Hell I'm not surprized at all. This is a EA pattern of behavior. They totally abandoned Motor City On-Line.

A statement was just made saying they aren't going to drop support for it

from TBF2
We've been given some news, direct from Dice Live, concerning the rumors about the future of Battlefield 2:

I can with good conscious say that we are still supporting Battlefield 2 and no other decision has been made. Dice Live has been reached by rumors saying otherwise, although under normal circumstances we do not comment on rumors this has caused unnecessary concern for our Battlefield players.

Be sure to stay tuned and we will update you further.

For those needing a better grasp of the English language, translation as follows :

I can say, cross my heart, that we are still supporting vBF2 and no decision to drop it has been made at this stage. We have heard rumours saying that vBF2 will be dropped and although we don't usually respond to rumours we are responding now as we feel that this rumour is causing great concern for vBF2 players.

It's EA and Dice, what do you expect? They make a couple of patches and expansions and they're done, they don't care about their customers.

They had better give up support; they are one of the few companies who's support tends to make things worse with their "patches." Rather than fixing problems they play to the whims of griefers simultaneously making vbf2 gameplay grow steadily worse while knocking out mods with actually good gameplay for weeks at a time. Good riddance is all I have to say.
Thanks luizinhuu for the find
