The bomb won't explode if it doesn't pickup the phone.

"Oh ****, it's a long distance call, anyone got another quarter?"
"Shoot, I'm out of minutes... someone grab my credit card!"

There are just to many scenarios to make fun of :D

If modifying the terrain in game is a no go then could the use of a in game "tool" to make the object invisible as suggested be a viable option?

There would be some inherent problems with TK's but I'm sure people would learn to live with it. Ok there will be a tonn of tk punishes with this I know I'm just kidding my self.

Perhaps as a different option make the mines a much smaller object to simulate them being partially exposed, only the detonater pad exposed? If there were enough slots available (probably not for engy's) you could have two mines, one normal and quick to deploy, second takes 20 seconds to become active (representing effort to effectively hide)?

Just some thoughts on a work around aka the only way anything can be added to BF2 engine :wink:

maybe it shouldn't be completely invisible but shine-thru like the dead soldiers now in the open beta?

hmm I agree with the original post of this topic. DCX used small bushes to hide explosives in the relevent classes. Maybe somethign similar could be done here. Although with a bit of a rubbish, a plastic bag skin would work wonders I guess?

But then the U.S would wonder why theres a garden on the other side of the bridge.

What a great idea. Would it be possible to change the model of the IED after it's been planted by some weapon-like means and still have it detonate when someone commands it to and/or credit them with the kill?

Imagine a Insurgent, Ambusher, and Civilian working together. Insurgent provides security and ammo while the Ambusher plants mines and the Civilian comes along with his new and improved PLASTIC BAG (or some other various, easy to find, object that could easily encase a mine) and puts the mines in it so the look like a piece of rubbish instead of a mine.

IEDs should be placed inside of sniper kit bags. Imagine all the kills you'd get.

ok why not make the ied model a rock it self or a plant or something, that way when you throw one down on the road it will look natural.

its not ideal but i would solve the whole add more road junk problem.

"Hey look, a lot of new rocks and rubbish and no lag!!"
<goes closer>
"wow, and very detailed, too"
<looks closer>
"Err, whats this beep-beep sound?"
