You can have a high ping on a server and gameplay is fluid. We had some players from the east coast connecting to our ofp server, but they didn't even lag with a ping of 150+. The EU players with 80+ lagged a lot, seems the US has the better connection.BlakeJr wrote:Or we can pray for Damage Inc to update their servers and for the sake of fairness let's play a few rounds on US hometerritory at least once in a while.
Just because Artnez doesn't mind the high ping doesn't mean everyone from the US does not.
Besides, I like Ghost Dogs, reminds me of the golden days of Infiltration for UT99

I have played on servers which had a ping of between 100 - 200+ and never get any lag. The system you use and the connection you have makes a big difference, the ping itself makes very little difference unless it is truly horrendous. Due to the fact that people live all over the world, it seems a little unfair that we choose only servers which give the U.S. guys a better ping, especially as very few U.S. players turned up to play.
Wouldn't it be better to select a server that benefits the majority of the players who are there.

I was getting a 150-180 ping and was taking care of business just fine
If we have more Euro players ingame then I think its more fair for us to pick a Euro server.
We only had a few US people show up anyhow. Others US people that showed up stayed there for 3 seconds, saw there was only 2 people and and left :-/

Don't forget to carefully partition your drives so that C partition will ONLY have windows and nothing else.solodude23 wrote:Sorry I didn't make it. Got a virus...which let tons of other virus's in on my comp as well as tons of spyware and adware. It even took over my anti-spyware and virus programs so yeah....and then it corrupted explorer so I couldn't log in. I next did a system repair and that didn't even help. Eventually I completly re-installed the OS and scanned with my anti-virus programs and anti-spyware and everythings dealt with now.
If I ever have a virus issue, I just reinstall the OS from the start so I dont have to second guess. Keeping everythign seperated makes the reinstall very easy.

Get a decent Anti Virus software and that won't be a problem. Personaly I use McAfee and have had absolutely no problems with viruses or spyware, even when I do surf the dodgy sites. AVG is alright, but I found it was limited, my suggestion is to have 2 AntiVirus systems to back each other up. I used to use Norton, but it is shit and tries to take over your PC. Hold onto AVG and get a hold of another just in case, most AV software will not detect all problems as they use different techniques and definitions to hunt down trouble.solodude23 wrote:Sorry, but why do this?
Well ive had quite a few viruses before. (Stupid with computers dad + Porn) and most I can immediatly heal/delete because the second I get it AVG will let me know. Problem solved.
