Your model should only be in editable poly pieces EVER. Never give it another modifier.

Use smoothing groups - not the smoothing modifier. If you give me the model file, I can point out what you can do on msn or another instant messenger.

Very good, this has got to be one of the best models I have seen so far. I hope we see this someday. Remember modders food or real life is no good excuse for not working on PR. ;-)

Will send the EOTech in a few days, having some issues with my external HD. It's already textured.

How is the situation with your HD? Days are passing, we are delaying the work and we still haven't got the sight...

That looks really great man! :!:

Question: What kind(s) of software does on use to create objects like this used in PR?

3dsMax is used for modeling, for example.

3dsMax... Thanks for the reply...

I'm generally interested in learning how to create 3d models, however I have no experience or training...
So, is there any decent freeware that I could get my feet wet with messing about trying to create something as half as decent as the OP's rifle?

EDIT: OMG $3,400+ for 3dsMax, ouch, yeah I definitely would like to know about any "affordable" software for modeling... :)

Yeh if you would really like it, you could buy it.. But then you really should do a lot with it, otherwise it's a waste of money..

I only use it sometimes.. my father thought he would need it, but it came out he didn't, so it was standing on a shelve gathering dust, till I tried it out.. I'm now doing some tutorials on it.. I want to create a mini, to implement it into battlefield 2, to drive around with, before I make any complicated tank models.. ;)

There is also some Maya folder in your bf2editor directory.. What can you do with that?
