I think you're thinking of the AGM-86 Air Launcher Cruise missile. The AGM-86C Block 0 has a 2000 lb warhead (Block 1 has a 3000 lb warhead), is launched from the B-52H and has been used in Iraq and Yugoslavia. The Tomahawk is ship or sub launched and had a ground launched variant (BGM-109G or GLCM), though the ground launched variant only carries a nuclear warhead and was eliminated by the INF treaty.
EDIT: An air launched variant of the Tomahawk (AGM-109) competed against the AGM-86 in the JCMP (Joint Cruise Missile Program), but it lost, and development was stopped.

ya lets giv teh US tomahaxs cuz it would be like cool if it coul like be shouldermounted and like everyone could have one and like destroy all the crappy T-90s! lol i doont get why mec have tanks they should have like only rocks cuz they are arabs and are like very poor cuz they only have camels and goats lol
sorry, but im kinda tired of all these "lets give US and Brits alot of cool über toys so the other factions gets to be more and more canon fodder for them"
does anyone remember the scud in BF42 DC? it was ONLY used as a baserape tool, you would park it on a repair/rearm pad and aim it with a buddy and then fire one scud every 20 sec or so that would take out every vehicle in the enemys base.

I believe they have been launched from the air (it's nothing new) but yeah I think they prefer to use subs & ships as launcher platforms.

lol seconded.
I think he just wants some uber-prawnage. Why use a Javellin when you can have a cruise missle!? haha.
Makes me wonder though if a Tomahawk can peirce armor (it'd be a waste of resources though).

Only too much. But then I found the best server to play on, where these things didn't go unnoticed. I even posted a video of that happening on you tube playing 73 easting.
The cruise missles in D.C were fun to use too.

If I were to play DC, I probably could still use the exact spot and elevation that would put the SCUD in coalition main on 73 Eastings. I remember clan matches on that map, where the initial seconds of the round would involve the opposition setting up the SCUD in seconds (almost by muscle memory) and coalition grabbing every tank, humvee, IFV, bike or camel they could get their hands on, and getting the hell out of there.

Though i know that you want tomhawk too fire but why just change tomhawk with hellfire
You could for example change the anti air gun on the ship with a hellfire missile

Actually I think this is planned for .8 after the fast ropes in .7 ....
But like others have said, completely different roles and the maps are far too small for a Tomahawk
