I always say hello when I join a squad but lately I'm lucky if one person says hello back. MAybe the changes in the latest patch will help teamwork again which will make people use their mics.
I dont think some of the new maps help teamwork because there are so many toys, people take tanks out on their own and just follow the crowd ,rather than listen to the sqaudleader if on the rare occasion he is given any orders.

If you are holding down B WHEN THE ROUND ENDS, regardless of whether or not you let go, you will still transmit for about 5 seconds.epoch wrote:Isn't VOIP still active when the round ends? I'm sure it is (unless of course it's a bug!).
BTW guys, this is a perfect example of a split between the forum community and the 'pubbing community'.
They don't know theres a 'bad' change going on (you're right, text instead of mics? I barely read the text myself as its a distraction). And they won't do until they read the forums.

I only ever use text for team chat if someone important needs to be mentioned like to look out for a sniper that hasn't been spotted yet. it's normally when I'm dead I use it though.
I also only say bye if people are actively talking. I only pick squads where the majority have the lil mic speaker active (espec the SL).
I agree it's annoying that you can't chat properly when a round ends. I have actually stayed on through an entire new map load just to say bye just because the squad worked great together..for once.

Whenever I get called a n00b I admit it and ask that person for advice and perhaps a private tutorial.
It's just funny how most of the time they are on the bottom 20 of the scoreboard.
I say goodby to squadmates if I need to leave midgame but I don't really tell the server at large when I am leaving since I don't think they really care.

And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

A bit off topic but closely related to whether BF2 should have allowed text chat go on a bit longer before switching maps..
I hate, hate, hate the auto MAP popup after your dead. Usually 1 lone wolfe left that won't die and you just want to not look at the large map so you press a key to see the ingame screen and it's there for 5 seconds before the map pops up again...(Problably just me!) lol, but I hate it...

Click away from a spawnpoint and close the window - it won't come up again.brummett wrote:A bit off topic but closely related to whether BF2 should have allowed text chat go on a bit longer before switching maps..
