Just had a great little blast with Hx. Vikke_Viking on Kashan with the Cobra. Took it in turns to gun and pilot, wracked up over 40 kills between us for not all that many deaths (about 6, I think). Need to practice my tank-evasion; got newb'd by a few well-placed tank shots, but was a great little time

Never flew attack choppers and hardly the a-10 because with my sucking performance (Computer-wise i mean ;P) i dont hit sh*t.
But i do like to fly transports, i wasn't half bad with the Lb at Muttrah and also more or less won the game for the US with one crazy stunt. (The whole Coast was RPG infested,so i flew i up at around 300-350,then flew over Docks and then i turned the Birdie upside-down. Just about an altitude of 50 or so i pulled up and managed to land safely,unloaded the squad which set up a RP and this turned the fight in the end).
But if there isn't some dire need for transports, I too just like it better to stay on the ground,just more intense.

Heh, I actually have a surprisingly high rate of successful recoveries from lagspikes while flying choppers. I mean, what it's usually like is me flying low and at high speed in urban terrain, and then suddenly my view freezes... 2 seconds later, I'm up above the town and sideways. I usually manage to barely recover from such situations, although each time it looks like a crash is inevitable.Xmaster wrote:Never fly. Im a far more better grunt than a pilot. Plus my PC is shit so i get lag spikes when I fly...which ends up 80% of the time in a crash.
I must've scared a lot of gunners, though.

I'm a big fan of A-10'ing, but you gotta have your fighters fly escort to be efective. I know it's not as easy as it is in vanilla, but I often like ot ask others if I can have a plane. The inexperienced and experienced will probably say yes, because if there's someone better to use the bird or someone who really wants to use it, they think that it is the right thing to do (it is).'[BF2 wrote:Bonsai']I`ve been checking the sign-ups for Campaign 5 lately and it seems that there are no skilled pilots out there?
Everybody seems to answers on the Pilot/Crewmen Y/N (State Helo/Jet/APC/Armour): with: "No Jet, THX!"
This is somewhat surprising me as every time i play on a PR map with jets there are about 5 people on each side waiting for planes to spawn?
Is this because everybody wants to try the planes and afterwards sees for oneself that it`s not as easy as in Vanilla?

Funnily enough there are a lot of people that state they can fly the transport chopper, but ingame nobody uses them? This is somewhat strange, isn`t it?

Cheeseman's the best, better than the rest. I consider myself a great pilot for or a person who only uses the mouse and the keyboard keys. I might be a great pilot, but I've seen better pilots than myself as well.

usually im on Thors albasrah (before the gorgeous 0.6 comes out for everone
)
i will usually create an A10 squad, or 1 on my own, lock it, get in A10, then commander (if any will give targets such as spawn-cars, technicals, tanks), if there isnt a commander i will join a squad and give air support, sometime i like to fly the BH though as transport and also Evac...
