EMULSION for $5? That's cheaper than B&Q!

my mic cost me $10 back in 1992 and it still works like a champ. you dont need an expensive mic at all. the one in the newegg picture looks very similar to the one i am using.

go get a mic if you dont have one already!

Well, since starting PR, two fairly expensive (i.e. 30 bucks) USB mics, and for another odd reason the other mics (the ones that plug in with the purple and green plug thing) don't work. Right now I can't play PR anyways, but when I do, I'll have to resort to a USB PS2 mic.

Think of the people on the other side.

"Mhm mh hm hh h *crackle* MhmmH"

"What?"

Team Chat - "OMG, I told you to turn around!"

Wrong.
You need to reduce your directx down to basic. Here is how:

Start> Run> "dxdiag"

Go to the sound tab. Under DirectX features, move it down to basic acceleration.
Worked for me

hehe how's that :o ?

about the crackling mic i sometimes put my hands to my headphones hoping to understand it and i still can't. Pretty stupid watching a grown guy looking blank and intense into a computer screen with his hands to his ears.

Anyways... great to finally get some positive reactions and VOIP just rocks the bejeezus out of me.
