Well, on maps like Kashan, a coordinate "X#" is actually a large area, so if you want CAS to hit something specific, you need to place down an attack marker for them...

i have only seen a commander 3 times out of 100 matches, most of the time its up to the squad leaders to communicate, its a downer, same thing today squad 5 at flag we move out take next flag and squad 5 moves out we lose that flag back and forth, and tying commands are just rediculous.
Lets all put in a signed request to BF2 progammers hehehe LOL and ask them to support us. and give our DEV guys some code to work on.
dam it, love to be able to be chatting to another squad leader and working out tactics... have it so team mates cannot hear just the squad leaders only.
i want that.. 2 squad leaders ahead of both there squads and there talking and organising kneeling down and both squads team members way back side by side waiting to get new orders from them....
arrrr the dream no more frustration.

I am still a novice in PR, but I am truly amazed at the LACK of communication within the squad, the SL's to the squad.. and especially the commander to the SL..More time than not I have to ask the SL .. "WHERE TO BOSS?". As a SL myself, I have never in about 30 matches had the commander use the commander voip with the SL's.. Not only that many times, if we have a decent squad, we take matters into our own hands grouping up with other squads using text..RIDICULOUS. The other day, we capped a flag, and the commander ordered us to another flag. We were engaged at the capped flag basically defending it. I communicated back stating it best to defend this flag...instead of using voip, he simply kept dropping attack markers. Being a good soldier..lol...I instructed my squad to attack. I looked like an idiot. Anyway, I personally feel that all the tools to communicate effectively with each other is in place. The main problem rests with people being SL's and commanders who basically do not have the skills, or desire to do the job. The only thing that may change that is to possibly limit the kits for SL's to maybe just a rifle and a few clips, and the commander just a pistol..Anyway, other than that there is no better game out there. This is the best game there is, we all just need to use the tools that are given to us.

-The problem isn't as much the way VOIP is set up as it is the lack of ordered communication. I often find myself holding in the V or B button stuttering along, not being clear, using too long sentences when three words would suffice and so on. I also recommend making the minimap transparent and keeping it up most of the time for more efficient communication(Can you do that in game? In case someone in the squad needs to do so). Anyways, here's an example of my blabber on the comms and how it should be:
"Ok, we've got some hostiles to the Northeast of your position SL"
"(Ok, we've got some) Hostiles (to the) Northeast of (your position) SL"
-At least 2/3 of the time is shaved off there. I've also found that identification is lacking, SLs don't state their squad number, COs don't specify squads(Though that wouldn't be a problem if they only spoke to one squad at a time), etc. The use of directions such as "left" and "right" don't do much good either, I always use NSEW. The SLs should also use their markers to signify the location of hostiles in buildings as well. Basically, there's alot that could be done to make comms more efficient that does not involve TS or coding.
