why cant I create a server?

Start-Control Panel-Add or Remove Programs-Project Reality v0.5.0.8 (or something like that)-Remove

Go to:

Start
control panel
Add/Remove Programs
Uninstall PR.

But uninstalling is not recommended, your PC will destroy itsself after 15 seconds :p

I had the CTD problem when starting a local server and I can confirm that this works.

I used 'Add or Remove Programs' to delete both 0.5 and 0.6 and then used the 0.6 full installation and now all is great. :)
