But uninstalling is not recommended, your PC will destroy itsself after 15 seconds

I had the CTD problem when starting a local server and I can confirm that this works.
I used 'Add or Remove Programs' to delete both 0.5 and 0.6 and then used the 0.6 full installation and now all is great.
