Wont there be future night maps?

I know that I am a minority, but I see Night maps have alot of potential in PR since alot of military actions do take place during dark hours.

It would be awesome to have more night maps, a huge desert night map would be insane.

'[R-PUB wrote:bosco']No dynamic lighting in BF2.
Now I know this has already been proven false, but isn't dynamic lighting an option setting in the video menu?

I see it most when guns fire (in bf2) and the muzzle flash illuminate its surroundings.

I perfer bases to have outward shining lights that helps detecting intruders. But yea as of now there's only 1 night time map, so it's kinda too much work for very little return if the developers want to work on the lights.

Lets save it for PR v2.0. When we have 5+ night time maps instead of just 1.

I honestly think that if Developement intends on making more "night-time" based maps than a solution should be in place to place headlamps on vehicles. I don't know many people that drive in the CITY at night without headlights on (1 because it's illegal) and other times you can see that well at night without NVG's... which I'm sure nobody that live within 30 miles of me has em...

perhaps this isn't a priority right now, but it will be with the implementation of dusk, twilight and nightime maps are introduced hopefully soon...

Bringing this post back from the DEAD!!! (OH NO ZOMBIE POST)

(only so I don't get nagged for a "repost")

So here it goes.

Looking around the forums I am seeing quite a few night maps that generally have quite the support behind them, reddawn, and kasan nights to name a few.

I know night maps were not very popular because the lack of realism (ie. everyone driving around with out headlights, too dark in "urban" areas, not wanting to keep night vision on 24/7, lack of lights in buildings and street lights.)

Maybe this feature will give these coming night maps the boost they need. possibly promoting more night maps in the future.

Even on a map like Red Dawn, where there is no NV (because NV is not needed) this could add that spot of realism.

:D or even a light coming off the bottom of the Huey

and as someone said before me, A LOT of operations take place at night.

just putting the topic back on the table.

:D It's very possible

Check a few threads back, there are screen shots of it :D

the lights even illuminate in front of them like real headlights (win)

Wouldn't hurt to try it out with 1 single Humvee and see how it turns out.

I wouldn't mind trying this out, but I never played around with effects before.

The thing with the headlights is, are they used in a battle situation?
"Today's forecast calls for 30mm HE rain with a slight chance of hellfires"

"oh, they're fire and forget all right...they're fired then they forget where the target is"

Good question

Can anyone confirm this or not?

I don't believe the driver would keep Night Vision on while driving around.

But who knows.

I will have to ask around, Or if anyone here would like to post about it.

In the game from a tactical point of view it would give away yours and the enemy's position in the dark.

Which may promote for more on foot combat.

But at least it would open up for tacticool flashlights and AN/PEQ-type lasers. ;)

More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
