I haven't flown it yet well i have...sort of but i crashed so..my feet are staying firmly on the ground unless i manage to fly the damn thing!...but what i've seen of the merlin its a pretty sexy helicopter in my opinion.

i nearly got killed by a merlin which was on the same team as me "British team" on operation ghost train, one of my members tried to fly on and nearly killed me!, and i was Squad Leader aswell!, talk about mutiny! lol!. it nearly crashed ontop of me lol!...

Speaking of the Merlin, is anyone else unable to look around as co-pilot now?

I love the merlin...
its really cool looking, and its the brits most important asset on basrah cause it can ferry you from ammo dump location to ammo dump location. If you encounter heavy resistance, then call for extract and go to a different ammo dump, works like a charm

I like the Merlin because it's a very forgiving aircraft to fly... the Black Hawk zips around too easily and crashes frequently... the MH-6 is like the airborne version of the motorbike (they both vibrate and can get blown up quickly)...

the merlin looks cool, the back ramp is bitchin, and it functions just like any other transport vehicle, which rules. i agree it should have more seats though. is 6 the maximum bf2 can handle? i cant remember if its 6 or 8. i never pilot, so i dont really know.

No offense to the Merlin,I love it and all,but the Blackhawk PWN's it...I will always love the Blackhawk as my number one,small transport,and in a way light air support chopper.And is the Blackhawk gonna be made BLACK,any time soon,in a future version,cuz it's Black in U.S. Intervention.

Anyway, the Merlin is a medium/heavy-lift transport helicopter like the Chinook. Merlin Helicopter Cargo 3: Merlin HC3. The UH-60 is a utility helicopter, it isn't designed to take big payloads.

only thing i "love" about the merlin is trying to stand in the back without dying.....usually to no avail.......

At least my Merlin wasn't shot down by an RPG by some crackheads.

The Blackhawk in PR has 8 seats IIRC.
8 seats in a vehicle are the max with the BF2 engine afaik.
The Merlin has 6 (?) seats in PR.

7 as of 0.6.

IRL the Merlin "stands" (carries) 45 troops, the BH, 12.

45? We need to find out if so many people even fit in a standing Merlin in PR

I'd rather use Lynx instead of Merlin . Faster , lighter , ins't that huge and carry the same number of troops as Merlin do in PR . And afaik model of it is already done ...
