Keep in mind Cerberus, it is entirely possible to take an SVD round to the chest and survive -- if you've got body armour. Search the internet for that footage of that American soldier in Iraq being sniped by insurgents in a van with an SVD. The guy got floored, but got right back up and ran off. All he suffered was a grapefruit-sized bruise to his lower ribs.
However I do agree, the weapon damage vs infantry system needs to be carefully, carefully looked at to achieve the most accurate representation. I can see guys surviving direct hits to the chest if they're wearing body armour (but I would like to see some sort of blackout-blurred effect, moreso than the "tunnel" is now, so that even if you are hit in the chest and survive you will be put out of action atleast for a few seconds.. although I can understand shootin' a guy in the chest and him not dying, I can't understand shooting a guy in the chest, seeing him flinch, and continue on running to put one in my head with perfect aim. Mofos get shot in the chest, they go DOWN!)

Another suggestion:
Mountainous/hilly maps (like Afghanistan). I was playing on Mashtuur and my squad and I were having some awesome firefights in the hills located northwest of the town. There were enemies popping out from behind cover and it felt pretty intense. And when driving past a hill, our humvee was ambushed by an MEC AT unit but I killed him with the .50 cal.
