Sorry for going slightly off-topic. I remember in a thread we talked about current weapons issued to US Soldiers in Iraq but I can't seem to find it again. Is the US Army moving away from the M16 Completely and issuing M4 Carbines to all troops? Will we M16 disappear? Is it just the circumstances of mostly urban combat that is seeing a prevalence of the M4?

Concerning .7 patch: Devs please take your time, work it all out. Don't let the nagging community push you to release something your not satisfied with. I'm so happy with the improvements .6 made on .5 that I can wait as long as you need me to for the next update.

Im pretty sure there wont be any M16's for the US Army unless they decide to put in some POGs. M16a4 will be there for the US Marines.

The general trend of the last 100 years has been to scale down the service rifle in some way or another. Gewehr 98, Kar 98, Kar 98k. B.A.R., M-14, M-16, M-4. Gatling, .30 Browning, M-60, M-249. So on, so on... We'll all be running around with .05 caliber hyperautomatic needleguns complaining about stopping power as we potshot eachother's ears off at two miles with laser-guided sights by 2100.

And no I'm not calling the B.A.R. a standard rifle, but its duel-fire functionalty and box magazine do make it a forerunner to the M-14.

There should at least be a "Number of stupid suggestions/threads" limit. When you break it you get kicked for not searching or using your brain. This has been trialled with that charming Israeli boy, who lost. This proves the system works.

USI has a working Bradley right now. And if you DL the USI version out now you can play with it. USI has giving us SO MUCH stuff already and the army needs an APC/IFV in the lines of the Warrior, LAV III, ect....so one can only make the conclusion that we would get our Bradley from USI and also the US Army only has the Bradley so there really is no other option. And im pretty sure a DEV has already said that it will be the main IFV but you should ask them. I also know that Cheeseman is working on a Stryker APC for the Canadians and has said that he will release it to be used in the Army so we will see what comes of that.

To make things clear: PR .7 is going to come out sometime in between now and when Duke Nukem Forever gets released. On topic, I am very glad that the US rifles will have ACOG scopes and that the British will get the Challenger. Out of curiosity, does anyone think it would be a good idea to give the US rifleman's gun's iron sights the appearance of an ACOG scope, even if it does not yet appear on the gun model in an upcoming patch (before .7 is released), since the current iron sights seem to impede the view to your target more than the scopes on other armies' guns?

So I'm confused. Let me see, currently the USMC (United States Marine Corps) is the current Armed Forces for USA in PR. The United States Army will be added in .7? Also the United States Army uses the M4A1, but the USMC uses the M16? So am I getting this right?

Well in real life what weapons are used varies from unit to unit but what I keep hearing is that in PR the Army will have M4s/M4A1s and the Marines will have M16A4s.

The regular US infantry soldiers use M4s, NOT M4A1s.

Is the USI M2A3 Bradley the Vanilla model tweaked to carry more than 2 players?
I can always model a Bradley in the near future if I get the time.
