I happen to like Kashan more than the new Al Basrah.

I hate to say this, but I'm usually one of the players who are waiting for the F-16. Now don't judge me here, but it seems that we lack players who can fly well and I consider myself a good pilot who has great control over his jet, so I try to do my best to provider airsupport which we lack because of bad pilots to either kill the enemy planes targeting our vehicles on the ground or provide assistance in the air to defend the A-10 from any threats.

Had one of the coolest PR moments ever for me on Kashan 32pl -TG server last night. We had armor working the ridges...some APC's...some Snipers...everyone at South Village hitting it. Then out of now where two Cobras pop over the ridge and just sit up there behind our tanks. They'd pop up and let loose some TV's when the snipers/inf spotted them...then take down anything in the village that was left. WAS SO SICK, the cobras (EDIT)weren't gheying around and straffing etc...they stuck together and just hovered around behind the tanks, working together. Infantry had their binocs, calling out targets...telling our tankers if they hit and moving forward so no armor surpised us. I was a lowly infantry and it was still awesome...I didn't even get very many kills but it was an amazing game.

Thats the thing isnt it?
Kashan can be utterly amazing when played properly, with the correct teamwork. It can also suck when played incorrectly with no teamwork at all. Ultimately that applies to any PR game, and kashan is no different. So a map losing value isnt really the issue, its more the encouragement of proper teamwork between ALL forcea and units on the map thats the problem.

Which server was this!?! I'm utterly amazed by this.

Remember Jabal in .32?
When the "CS players"* hated it because it was 'too big' and it 'took too long to get to the fight.' This was when we still had maps like Strike at Karkand 1 and 2 or Muttrah. Now Kashan is too big and people want to play Jabal or Ejod or Basrah.
*I refer to these people as CS players because they just want to play small frag-fest, urban maps. Basically they seem to be look for vBF2 but with guns that actually do damage.
I've never understood why people enjoy the tiny maps so much. Is it lack of patience? Do they want to constantly be fighting for their lives with no time to think or strategize or relax? Not that Jabal is a tiny map, but on it, as well as on Kashan it is OK to wait a few minutes.
It's OK to wait for a vehicle to spawn or for orders from the commander or for squad to regroup. It's OK just to sit somewhere and defend. It's OK to take a few minutes to walk to somewhere.
You do not have to constantly be attacking or under fire or on the move.
Kashan is meant to be played much slower than Muttrah or Jabal. And slow does not equal bad.

Theres enough transport, IMO
But most of the time, a 'VIP' SF with an M4 or a guy with M14, who thinks, he's a sniper, will grab a Humvee and drive it away to the Bunkers, because, thats where the infantry action is, score kills, then get mowed down by T90s or shot by the M82.
Or killed while CQC inside a Bunker CP, because G3>M16>M14
Guy is dead, spawns at base, requests his kit back then starts whining, that theres no vehicles.
Then you go around the Bunkers and see tons of Humvees dumped.
I never destroy enemy jeeps, especially on Kashan, because they spawn in waves no matter, how much the team already has them on the battlefield...and wtf is a Humvee doing in the middle of the desert 3km away from the nearest frontline...
Is it possible to make, so if a SL gets in the Humvee's driver position and he's first to it, the vehicle gets squadlocked and can be only driven by the members of that squad?

you get a lot of love if your a taxi guy on that map thats a given, as for playability on public servers it can become testing at times especially when your shoved onto the team that is just doing nothing remotely as a team.

For you and likely many others here that statement is undoubtedly true but don't go and presume to speak for everyone.
Its going to vary depending on who you talk to and what they consider to be fun and even what their needs are. A casual gamer for example might just want to hop in for a short period of time and play. Having some portion of that time spent doing nothing may not be considered time well spent.
My main concern with PR moving forward is that the more teamwork that is required on a map, the less suitable it is in a pubbing environment where teams are random. It seems like for every guy talking about training players to do better, there are 20 guys calling them n00bs and insulting them.
IMO the end result is that the player base can't help but get smaller as the game play is slowed down, and complexity and teamwork requirement raised. This isn't necessarily a bad thing...all depends on what the community and especially the developers are looking for. Just be sure to set your expectations appropriately.

Victory in 64p map depends on your pilots, Ive won dozens of times without any armor support, because the Su25/A10 raped them all

That's just it. Having a map decided on how 4 people fly their jets isn't good in a 64 player map. The 32 player version has some of the best combat I've seen in PR.

Yeah today there were about 16 or 17 players on my server on Kashan 32. It was pretty cool ... very n1 teamwork and no A -10's or SU 25's annoying somebody.

exactly lang: its not good for gameplay when 3 or 4 players determine the fate of the round completely based on how well they fly... this is not good teamplay and very frustrating for the 60 other players in the server at the mercy of the jets cause they dont have anything to combat the jets except more jets....
and when F16's are doing strafing runs on infantry, you know something is messed up.

I must say that getting a good round on Kashan is amazing.
Four AM EST :64 player, my squad is at the north village, after ten minutes we have the CP and dig in. Start taking fire from the ridge to the west so we hike up to blow the enemy rally.
Turns out there was no rally, and they had somehow gotten around our tank, my squad, and an apc to neutralize the village. We call in the A-10 and that village is absolutely destroyed within sixty seconds, save one building and miraculously, our HMVVW.
Commander deploys a bunker and a supply truck, I request supplies so the tank can rearm, etc etc etc
We spent the rest of the game clearing, then defending while another squad worked forward.
Our team consisted of two squads, and maybe half the guys had mics.
Long story short: if you can organize random people, even five or six of them, even very late at night (we had one brit, so he was having breakfast while flying the a-10) even with limited communication, you can become an effective unit on that map.
Regardless of size.
Yeah, we had a couple of mental hospital escapees driving our hmmvws everywhere but where we needed them...but there's more than enough transport on both sides, and despite its vast expanses of desert it really is a balanced map. If you're playing with smacktards, work around them.
