Seriously... this was an issue in DC as well. It's lame. People are mean. I spent a good portion of my time defending the newbies against the vets. That's how I got to be a mod of DCF

Military IRL is mean period....mess up and get your *** chewed, plain and simple. There are just a lot of idoits out there tbh. They don't want to run with the squad...they dont want the same things that this mod strives to deliver. Its easy to chill with the normal noobs...they may grab the wrong kit or run-n-gun a little to much. But the people getting chewed on are the guys playing like total idiots with assets etc. APC's running around in the open...being in places they have no business being (whole squads etc). The internet is filled with idoits...I'm thankful they we are rather strick on them. I was a noob in .5 and it was FINE for me...I had no problems. I just followed people around, asked how things go and learned the game. I didn't go and jump in the first vehicle and jibba jabba all over the place...though I was an excellent chopper whore in vBF2. Sorry but it only takes a little common sense to get into the game. Lots of idiots, just the way it is. I do however think that a little educational material needs to be spoon-fed to the guys so the ignorant will fall in line and not play like idiots. So loading screens can have tips telling you how to play well with others....not just "use teamwork". PR is meant to be played a certain way, ignorant people that can't figure it out on their own need a little help in figuring that out. Now don't get me wrong, I never punish TK'ers...it happens, who cares...no need to boot people. I do get pissed when people are just idiots though, like they cross the line between ignorant and just careless dumbasses. Type " Keep the APC safe...not attack vehicle"....they drive it through the open...out of place...never listen, then complain and *****. Happens more often than not and I'm glad someone is a jerk to them. As for noobs...don't chat to much in VOIP, follow someone around...dont touch vehicles and learn to rifleman. All is well if you follow those three simple steps.

Oh and btw, if someone bitched me out for doing something in-game I'd sure as heck think twice about doing it again...for a lot of guys, they just don't care.

Maybe we can have a Hug A Nub day or week on GloryHoundz servers.
Put in some admins with a ban hammer and some vets to SL and train all the newbies, then agree to a small scrim with the other team and basically teach them, what they need to do in each situation.

All, who dont cooperate, should be warned, then kicked. Same goes for any self-proclaimed 'veteran'. Just because you played this mod longer than me, that doesnt make you my superior.
Sick of that.

I was on TGs, playing Kashan and had one guy whining, than he can't get his kits and that Devs should fix this and that, then when they told him to RTFM, he said, he's been playing PR over a year.
Then I went with my squad, who was really nice, we engaged a USMC squad and I found a Heavy AT. I switched the weapon to SRAW to load it and that 'veteran' comes out and shoots me in the head on sight, sees, he TKd me, says "Sorry", and runs away

I have to agree with the OP abit. I especially hate it when People use what version since hey been playing PR as an excuse to talk down to me and others. Especially on Basrah! I've been whoring that map since .5 and in .6 i know atleast 90 cache locations, But noone really believes me until i blew a hell of them in a short amount of time

I really love proving ******** like that wrong! I once blew 8 caches by myself whilst an SL who i had at the beginning of the round who was abusive and calling me a noob was really pissed cause they could'nt find any caches! (Since i blew them all with my buddy) ******* called me and my bud hackers so we just said fuck it we killed him by mowing him down with landrover giving him a suicide!(We bailed before we hit him)

the other day, and i feel almost bad for this now, some guy kept asking what we were doing, but he was typing it in Room/Global chat, while he was an enemy... so I kept telling him to switch to his knife and come out in the field and wait for further orders and stuff... then he got all mad... i was like "dude, im sorry, im not on your team... all i can say is kill, cap flags, dont die, follow orders... and thats it..." but he was ticked at me... I think some of it is people not reading the manual (not you, im not saying that) and then they dont know even the most basic things...

or something silly like asking if the flashlight works on the pistol... which, in all honesty isnt a dumb question, itd be sweet if it worked, but i tell them they have to charge it at the enemy main base... then a second after someone lolz or what have you, i say "no. it doesnt work. besides, its a day map."

I only act like a **** when someone asks some ridiculous thing that anyone who looked over the manual that is installed would know... but then i always give an honest answer after 2 lines of dickery...

i feel terrible... ive become an elitist PR whore...

Heh, reminds me of the time I was playing Jabal and then someone in my squad said over VOIP, who sounded really young, asked how to switch seats in a vehicle. One of the squadmembers said, "F1, F2, F3." He replied with an "Oh..." I said, "Been playing Karkand infantry only, huh?" I mean, if you don't know the controls of vBF2...

I believe they are dumb questions. And while I dont think we should ***** them out or give them a terrible time, i think the least some could do is read the amazingly well done manual that is installed to your desktop. Whoever it was put some good nice work into it and im sure most people just delete it right away. I was curious, and even though i knew a bit about .6, i still read it....

Its not asking too much to have people know you need 2 guys to cap, need crewman kits, etc.

Now, respawn on helis? Sure, I dont know the times, id have to ask or look it up... not EVERYTHING about PR is insanely complex. Although, I give it to you that it is more complex than any other game ive played as far as rules and guidelines.

it was nice to see I'm not the only one who thinks those are a bit annoying/stupid... but I really think we should deal with it, as uncourteous as it is for them to not have read the manual...

Launch the PR icon, and it opens a test, get all the answers right and the Launch PR button will become available through a password, once you know the password you won't have to take the test again.
Then again, people will say "OMG ITZ STUPID CUZ I DUNT WANNA UZE A PAZWORD 3VERYTIM3 I WANA PLAY".
