Tom Clancy can do this one.

I don't think even Tom Clancy wants to touch any of this.
- Ghost Recon was there to fight a small war to prevent a bigger one. (Special Forces.)
- Rainbow Six started off invisible and completely secret, and had to blend in
with the police of the nation they were sent to and use mostly silent
weapons to avoid them being traced. (Global Counter-Terror.)
- Splinter Cell was all about collecting evidence of a person's or country's
operations in secret, and either capturing or assassinating the leader for the good
of national security. (NSA Counter-Terror.)
And then we have Project Reality, a gigantic combined arms military
operation that everyone presumably knows about.
Guess which one is the odd one out!

I have read it before. It is a nice fiction and good BF2 - BF2142 backstory.

People it's a GAME not a movie or a game trying to tell a story - it's just a game with tactics a lot of action/atmosphere and thx to the Dev's a good part of realism...no singleplayer campaign with you as imperialist invader or poor invaded follower of Allah. Get it over with and have some fun. Just my 2 cents

Doc wrote:Even if the MEC get a name change, people will still call them the MEC.
MECPEC is merely a more formal name that coincides with Grunt's
storyline.
We make storylines because not all maps are fun all the time, and
because we have a curiosity on how things came about.
Let me put it to you this way: If you were fighting in a war, and had
absolutely no recollection of any events leading up to the war, would
you not want to know why you are fighting?
Now, of course, it is still a video game. But if you don't want a background story,
then just don't read one. Even so, the best games either
have a great storyline or sandbox gameplay and a mediocre storyline.
wait, didnt the US invade iraq without background story?
and now the people in the country/server revolt because after the mapchange to insurgency the marine/us team thinks its no fun anymore?

BTW, join PR tournament and you will have opportunity, place and readers for propaganda style posts and background for invasion/liberation. I love to read and write them.

1) Those in this thread who say they don't care about PR storylines are obviously lying, because otherwise they wouldn't take time to post in a thread about PR storylines.
2) Its not a bad backstory, but what about working the insurgency into this?
Here's a rough idea of the kind of story I had thought of for PR but, up until now, kept to myself. Since this is a fitting thread, here it goes:
Coalition: US, Britian, etc.
Opposition: China, MEC, etc.
-The Coalition accuses 3-5 Middle Eastern nations of funding the insurgency, and threatens military strikes or even invasion.
-These Middle Eastern nations form the MEC to discourage the Coalition from invading them. The pact requires that if one nation is attacked, all other will come to its defense.
-The Coalition finds proof an MEC country is funding the insurgency after a tough battle with insurgents (the MEC funding is what made them so tough), and invades that country.
-All other MEC nations, by order of their pact, come to its aid.
-China is found to be dealing arms to the MEC
-The Coalition, with Russia now joining, decides to invade China.
-The Opposition decides to fund Russian rebels to distract the Russian military.
