but personally I'm not that big a fan of the mercenary idea I like to keep it real
FYI, "mercenaries" are used quite often in conflicts, most of the time they're refered to as PMCs (Private Military Companies). Not only are contractors already being deployed in Iraq, but even in past conflicts mercenaries were known to see action.

One of the more well known organizations is Blackwater. Even now, they have activities in Iraq (Google Blackwater Mercenaries and check the images and videos). Check the links for additional information.

We need private contractors... They are the second largest force in Iraq anyway.

1. russia has always been an enemy through the US's eyes, always.
2. trying to save your crippled economy does not make you evil.
3. russia? giving weapons to IRAN???!!!
guess what, you know that country, iraq yeah, we gave them cash, guns etc.
the talaban? those guys we're fighting, guess who trained them.
thats right the CIA
4. very few people are actually evil, it's just your view in relation to the world.

Idea #2 - Somalia/Africa
I know! this idea may seem kind of mainstreem since "Black Hawk Down", but it would be a fun map if we had a map of mogadishu that took up the entire map area. The "allied" army could either be the US like in BHD or maybe UN peacekeepers - then the army would have access to a wide array of different weapons and vehicles, making it fun to play as.
If not one of those two, we could do a "tribe" vs "tribe" kind of thing. so 2x Somalian armies maybe. but its my least favorite...
what about south africa, they have some cool vehicles

the south africans are one crazy group of people. Wheeled Artillery...
i can just see someone rolling up into a village with that and just demolishing it, ala FH1942...
and when does africa have snow.. 0_o
Since when was there a danish marines project? do they have a website?
and i wouldnt mind seeing a insurgent vs. PMC map kinda like albasrah where PMC have to defend something while insurgents attack, or a really indepth extraction map with pmc. vs insurgents.

No more tean 2 (allied with US/UK) armies, imo we need more team 1 conventional armies to fight them. South africa looks pretty cool to make

As I wrote somewhere else I have some suggestions for new factions:
Conventional Armies: North Korea, Iran, but also Cuba, Libya, Syria.
Insurgency-like Armies: Hamas, Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, Mercenaries (something like "Blackwater - private military company")

I would just call them "insurgents", which we have now. You could just change the weapons on some maps and write a different text for each insurgent map and viola! there you go: Hamas, Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah

i don't think cuba or libya should be included, yes they are still part of bushes "axis of evil" libya is on has apologized for the embassy bombing and is becoming more open. and as for cuba?
what maps would we have?
Bay of Pigs 2007?

Idea #3 - Danish support for british forces in Helman + Basrah
(Taken from a few posts down...)
Also, there are many similar factions, even some very small ones..
So we might aswell make the danish faction (I'm danish).
We have a modified M16 as standard in all the branches of our armed forces - with scope!
actually the rifle in use by the danish military is not an M16, it's the
C7/C8 the canadian version of the M4 and M16 and where it's the C8 aka m/96 that is the primary weapon used, with a full auto function and a added scope.
M4 = M/96 most used
M16 = M/95 rarely used except in special provinces like afghanistan.

Yes, that's because the majority of them are running cafeterias, servicing vehicles, etc.. Not being super 1337 body guards.. PSCs are a minority of the contractors that are in Iraq. While that is *reality*, I don't think flipping burgers needs to be added to PRM..

Really?
Tenths of thousands mercenaries is a minority for you?

Technically there are NO Mercenaries in Iraq, they are Private Military Contractors (PMC) and Private Security Contractors (PSC); most PSCs will take offense to the term "mercenary." What I was pointing out is that the figure that there are tens of thousands of Contractors in Iraq is misleading, primarily because the majority of contractors are not PSCs. PMCs serve contracts for mundane services such as laundry, vehicle maintenance, water purification, pizza slicing, etc... PSCs serve security contracts for diplomatic security, static security, mobile security etc.. These are Blackwater, Triple Canopy, etc.. People with guns. PMCs make up the majority of said figure, not PSCs.
