Shouldnt that be the engineers role?

the engineers role should be repairing vehicles, bridges and building commander assets, not going behind enemy lines destroying tanks, APCs, bridges and enemy commander assets.

Engineers would do demolitions when supported by other forces. Spec ops would do demolition behind enemy lines.

But going behind enemy lines is usually referred to as baseraping in servers and blowing up enemy vehicles at spawn areas is pointless due to the fact they respawn, so what exactly are you expecting from the spec ops class?

@ JP*wasteland.soldier; thanks, couldnt said it better myself, obviously
also, id like to add, Maybe give the 0.7 spec ops claymores, remote controlled ofc, so they can set traps for ambushes against infantry.

Yes they repawn, but they take a while to respawn back, the longer you delay your enemies to use important assets (ie tanks, APCs, etc...) the better off your team will be.

Use your knife.
If one's seen you, so has the rest of the team, so what's the point of a surpressor if they already know you're there?

And the more likely i am to fall to sleep from sheer boredom, i do not see the point in going to an enemy spawn area to blow up assets every 5 minutes when i could be on the frontline actually taking spawn points away from the enemy and such.
And considering the "target spotted" spam that goes on, do you really think any Spec Ops soldier will be able to stay hidden long enough to make several trips back and forth from an enemy spawn?

You must be playing on the wrong servers if you are getting bored to death. I always find it exciting as the team is pushing towards the enemy's last few flags with all of our armor/assets converging on the enemy. Blowing up assets can severly hamper your enemy and reduce people from complaining about getting raped by tanks.

If the Spec Ops is smart, he won't need to make several trips back and forth.

Hed have to make severeal trips, the slams have about a 20 second charge on them, so how do you suppose he can blow up the initial vehicle and then the vehicle that respawns 5 minutes later, does the spec ops have access to some sort of military time machine?

Or rather, an military vehicle that supplies infinite amounts of ammo

Take ejod desert for example, full server, vehicles allowed.
The Spec Ops guy would have to find some way of getting over to the enemy base, would then have to get in undetected through tons of people waiting for vehicles to respawn, would then have to take out those vehicles as soon as they spawn, would then have to get out of there before he was detected and then have to go back in after about 5 minutes....impossible without breaching baseraping rules? i think so.

Some maps are unsuitable for special operations.

Make it a request kit give him SOFLAM instead of Binos and give him a silencer, problem solved.

Why does he need a silencer?, this is the question thats been annoying me, if you can find me a picture of any special forces unit from either the British or US side using a silencer, then ill shut up.

i dont like the idea of the suppressor, the battles already in full swing and the enermy is on full alert why are you trying to be sneaky.
i think the Spec ops is more suited to CO-OP missions in ArmA than as part of PR, but thats just my view

Probably suppressor. But I don't like it. It would develop into players leaving team and going solo.
"Hey I got a suppressor. I don't need team backup"
