Just a few sudjestions regarding IED's
Time delay, when you click the "C4" detonator there could be a 3-4 second delay now im not sure how long it takes in real life but it would be much more realistic ? also Splash damage and radious should be incresed. so that you dont actually have to put the "IED" ON the road , but on the side of it. as you cannot "Dig" in BF2 and stones doesnt render car away its quiet hard hiding the IED. just a peice of cake ? lol

Personally I love going ambusher. I'll find a spot on the road that I can over watch from a safe spot, and then I'll lay mines to funnel travelers toward an obstruction like a burnt out car where I can hide my IEDs. Then I wait. I often get the most points on the team this way, which is surprising.
The only thing I hate is the shotgun. I wish they had an AK. I get taken out at range so often. Which makes me mad, because I've usually been watching the squad that ends up taking me out for a good while.
Also: those jammers have already been circumvented by some of the more skilled IED makers, which would probably be the ones supplying a major defensive operation like the one depicted in Al Basrah.

Yeah, the milita SKS would be better for the ambusher imo. The number of IEDs for Ambusher is good, no need to give em to Insurgents.

OP its a bad idea, Even though i would love to see more insurgents running around it would remove the importance of the ambusher class to some extent, I only see this working if the ammo bags cant resupply ied's from the people that threw them.
Btw Ambusher + SMG= Happy Me!

more damage to the IEDs would be welcome! If the ambusher had one less IED and the ones he had was just more powerful.. that way you can as someone said put them on the side of the road "hidden" and still do some damage!

I could deal with an SMG if it didn't have an incredibly fat post on it's iron sights. I'd actually prefer an AK though.

yeah...a better gun for the ambusher is a better idea. an sks or ak47 would probably be overpowered tho :\
but i still think there are too many war vets and not enough insurgents. maybe give the insurgent class a grapple hook? or maybe nerf the war vet class. either way...

How can an SKS be overpowered?

It lacks CQB capabilities.

maybe an idea would to have 2 ambusher kits, 1 with a shotgun who had more IEDs and diffrent types of them, and another with a SKS that had like only 1 or 2 normal IEDs?

thats alot like my original suggestion. an insurgent with 1 ied would be pretty similar to an ambusher with an sks and 1 ied

One thing wrong about that statement though, Insurgents having IEDs and having ammo bags which can resupply their IEDs. This ambusher with 1 IED and SKS, would probably have no Ammo Bag.

true...but i would like to see the ammo bags taken away and insurgent officers given the power to place ammo dumps(like a rally point but with infinite ammo and a pickup kit instead of a spawn point)
