I recall an interview that was made to EA puppet Armando Marini (or something like that) and he was asked about fast-roping. His reply was that the team overthere couldn't make fast-roping look realistic, and because of that, it wouldn't be implemented. Now I don't know if that was just an excuse to say "We won't break out butts for the little amount of $$ that we're going to sell the xpacks, etc..." or if that statement is really true.

If it's true, then its courtesy of EA/DICE's feature-bound engine. That being said, since the issue was that, apparently, they couldn't make it look realistic, I can only guess it CAN be done...but will NOT have the realistic look that everyone would be expecting...so if that's the case...I think that we can live without fast-roping...unless there're more talented people in the team that can nail it down!!?? :) ....anyone?

well the SF Mod had grapples, if they permanently attachted the line tro a blackhawk we could fast rope, they just need the climbing code or something (I know nothing of coding or moding)

I dont know if we could permanently attach a grapple hook to a chooper, but even if we could, they're more likely going to "slow-rope" if you know what I mean. That's the code already implemented to it. We would have to make the ropes, part of the physical model of the chooper, I think...

As far as I know, maybe modellers or animators here could say something?...hello??..helloo...heeellooo....llooo....lloo...? *echoes* :? ??:
