If you have lag due PB
console: pb_sleep 500
Helps.
But if you get people on the server, who headshot you with ping of 200+ from 900m or see every single enemy in the A10, then don't complain to us

I agree that the problem is not so much attracting new players as it is keeping them. When 0.6 was released there was a huge flood of players. The result was mixed in my opinion. Yes we had more people playing PR and more servers to choose from. However this diluted the players pool and spread the more experinced players out. The result was that most rounds of PR were not very PR like due to the lack of knowledge. As we put more time between the release of 0.6 we are loosing players who don't find PR to be to their liking and we are keeping some of the newer players who have learnt the basics of PR. The end result may not be a huge increase in player count but the ones that have stayed are making PR enjoyable again to play. To me that is more important then having and additional 200+ players on an average day.

pb_writecfg after that.
Anyway, I don't think we need more players, I think we need more
teamplayers.
Better quality than quantity

I recomend you never run for public office.
Personaly I was drawn here by the name. Project Reality. It sounded like some people got tired of all the vbf2 idiocies and wanted to change a few things to make it more realistic. But I am very active in the game moding community in general. (hell I first started modding my own games with Daggerfall (if you played Oblivion, this is it's grandfather from 86)).
For people who read mod sites and are activly looking for ways to change thier BF2 experiance, I think you have done a great job of reaching us. Now the challange comes in how to reach the people that play, or have stoped playing BF2 yet never look up mods. Honestly the only thing I can think of for that, short of TV ad time is word of mouth. So tell your friends, tell your sisters friends, hell put a sign on your dog! But you, the one reading this are the best advertisement for PR.

People become bored with the same maps, same bugs, same mechanics. The updates are so far apart that it allows too many people to leave the mod for something else, and then it's hard to get them back.
imo it's better to release smaller updates more often than larger updates spaced further apart. I'm sure there are plenty of things that could have been updated on the server side that don't require downloads for players. Even small download client updates are better than large updates that are only released twice a year. The releases themselves are free advertising for new players and older players who want to check out the changes.
Perhaps easy to say and not easy to do, but from a "keeping players interested" point of view, it's a noteworthy option.
I kind of agree. It is the little bugs and nuisances that pop up that always seem to drive players away. Like when the M4 was uber and the frequent "python" problems with performance get annoying as well. The amount of time the patches come out is fine to me, but we need some hot patches more often to fix weapons, functionability, errors, performance, and other little things more often. I can wait for new maps and major gameplay fixes since we have so many maps already(it is really the servers' faults for not playing all of the maps PR has), but it is hard to keep playing when one weapon dominates for instance or performance goes down.

i find that the sleep command just makes lag worse.
