Its possible, but hard.
And I'm sure it will be worth it, since its pretty annoying, when you crouch behind a wall and the top of your head sticks out

Now that my idea has been made a bit clearer, is there any dev that could confirm that it is possible and if it is worth doing?

I'd like to revive this old thread of mine. Now that the new deviation system has been implemented, this is needed much more than before. Preferably this system would give an advantage to already ready and prepared defenders, since they could go in and out of cover without a large hit on their deviation, and it would finally really put an end to the pop-up-and-shoot tactic. I remember someone saying that on average, a defending army can take on an opposition three times its size, this could make it so this can apply to PR as well. Right now, defenders are no better off than attackers in PR.

Good choice of thread revive.

Got an animator in your back pocket? This is a terrible revive.

I don't, but I believe one has come on-board since I started this thread. I don't even think a lot of animations would be needed, just raise the first person view when zoomed in, and lower the whole model when not zoomed in, although I don't know much about Python coding and the BF2 engine, this should be fairly simple to do, and even if it isn't, it's one of those changes that would revolutionize gameplay.

Definitely supporting this thread. If this is a possibility than that would mean that a huge part of the still present arcade feel would go away. No longer will movement feel like its robotic and static. You can actually utilize cover to the fullest instead of just adapting a shorter stance because you are just a little too exposed.

You know, even if this feature would take a lot of work...look at the implications to infantry gameplay. Pretty cool stuff in my book, and in essence it would give us a "Cover Mechanic" which would be a huge deal.

Even if its a lot of work Im a willing to let the Devs take all the time they need (as in no pressure) even if that means its gonna have to be a 1.0 thing. Who knows though It might be easier than we think. maybe

Any word from the Devs for this?

+1 for this.
I crouch behind a sandbag just enough to keep my head above it to give an enemy a headshot and just too little to make sure I can't see anything.
Yea I'd do that irl in a warzone
Deviation still needs taking into account, don't wanna see anymore jack in the boxes.
For an easier fix without animating why not lower the hieght of some walls and sandbags so we can crawl behind them then crouch to shoot over them.
Any case good revive and a tiny detail that needs addressing

This is what I don't want, it kills immersion, realism, and the deviation goes crazy.

best would be if crouching would work like in red orchestra.
while crouched u cant see over sandbags or windows and when u bring up the sights u look over the sandbags and windows and u can engage enemys but u can get also hit .
this would be a great feauture for inf fights

That's what OP suggested........

Damn right they are!
Also, this is a repost. However, this is a good idea and I can't remember what the devs said to it last time, so I'll let it run for the time being.
