This version of the Vodnik is closer to what is in BF2 and a little closer to the Humvee's level, though it still surpasses it.

I guess pretty much, that if the Vodnik was modeled or depicted as it really is, the MRAP would have to be the answer to it on the US side. Don't know what China would have.

There doesn't have to be a direct "answer" to every vehicle in every faction. The guys who have them really like the Cougar JERRV and it would be nice to have it in game, but as aid, there are lots of other things on our plates.

I would love to see a Vodnik in its true form. Amphibious, turret, 6 passengers with driver & gunner. Would love to see an up-armored Humvee with proper seating too. Hopefully in the future new models for the jeeps can come. What we really need a map where jeeps can be used extensively, as in they're almost essential to a team's war effort.

Hey now, if someone takes up the task to remodel the Vodnik to its real life counterpart for PR and it's accepted then I can always get back to finishing my MRAP Cougar model to help balance both sides.

Hers my MRAP Cougar model:

Please don't post pictures that big... Have mercy on us poor 1280 x 1024 people! ;) I believe imageshack has a thumbnail option, you can use, at least I think so...
Nothing wrong with it, except it’s too high poly for its category of vehicle in BF2 engine, but I can always decrease the poly count if the vehicle's needed.

what about the M-1117?

(in the BF2 engine it would be an APC)

It's kind of a specialized vehicle; it doesn't have a large crew (3) and can carry maybe one passenger in a jump seat if additional ammunition is not carried, so it's not really a "battle-taxi" APC. Army MPs use it for mounted patrol and convoy escort. It's kind of like the BRDM-2, only not amphibious, and not used for armored recon.

That having been said, it would be very cool to have one in game, if a niche can be found and enough references were found to make a good model. :)

Could you not fit an M-1117 into some kind of infantry map?

Yes there it is someone please skin that ho :P

so if i got this right that humvee will be included in PR :D
maybe a 50 cal from a sniper could go throw those glasses but other ammo couldnt only if they hit the right place in the middle of the gunner!

Does anyone know how common it is to see a M249 mounted on the Humvee gunner mount?

If someone models turret protection, its easily addable to the humvee as child, I could most likely do it in 5 minutes.

here is how you can terminate your target in the protection turret

Mmm that brings back memories of Soldner...

Guessing the Vodnik refers to the chassis and the whole upper section is mission-configurable?
