If by mean players you are referring to the ones that always tell new players to read the manual whenever they ask how to do something, then I guess I'm one of them.

I agree!!! All the intolerant and spoiled gamer-brats should get their own server....AND NEVER LEAVE IT. Stay put and never leave. PR will certainly be a better game...thats for sure.

Problem is all them newbies, if let unattended, have a nasty habit of getting better. End result is that they can and happily will kill you as many times as possible, smirking and thinking: "That's it? That's all they can do? I thought they where good?"

Before this thread gets closed i'd like to say something.
I am sometimes a mean person ingame but that is rare, I tolerate "Newbies" and their imperfections, Infact i kinda enjoy teaching them some of the basics of the game, The problem i really have with new players is most of them are fresh off the boat from either vanilla and/or "vanilla like" mods *cough* Poe2 *Cough* and they come in expecting to play this with the same style that they do in vanilla.
Most adapt and are quick learners and others well... They get back on the boat and sail straight back into the port of Karkand in Vanilla land. Then they go about and argue to everyone that PR sucks because of the long respawn times or Kit request system *Cough* Poe2 forums *Cough*, Sometimes they even complain about the Lack of health bars and ammo counters and other game mechanics which make PR worth playing.
"Newbs" are good because they learn after the first few failed solo attempts to squad up or die. "Noobs" on the other hand are bad because they come in expecting something and setting them selves up for disappointment when they dont get what they want, Then they go about trashing the Name of this Mod to make up for their own failures(If you cant stand the Heat get out of the kitchen and back in the dining room! Dont go and tell the chefs to change their recipes because you could'nt cook with them!)
I myself do still play vanilla but thats only if i want a quick game or feel like RPG whoring.

I can't count the times I've written this in the global chat when somebody asks one of the infamous questions like "what's the shovel for"/"how do I get a kit"/"where's the resupply zone":
"
Welcome to Project Reality and Thors Brigade. Please take 5 minutes to read the GUIDE section at the official site http://www.realitymod.com! This will answer all your questions."

Or when we a newbie into an iGi squad, then all of a sudden, he asks "what's the shovel for", everyone goes "awwwww, man, not again" on TeamSpeak

I agree on the mic thing. I find it alot easier to talk to people and tell them what to do instead of typing it. Everyone should get a mic!

And I go: "To build commander assets when he asks you to" See, my sentence is shorter than yours.

Try playing on a tactical Gamer server, it wont be long until you find one. DB is a hint.

Of course I won't leave the poor newbie hanging

If nobody answers his question I'm going to. But the GUIDE suggestion is a must, or they'll just keep asking more questions.

It's too bad you couldn't have some kind of macro that would just popp-up the basic facts in game.

Well I had a couple of rounds on TG.
Actually the best round I've had in PR so far was on TG,the map was EJOD Desert, everyone one in the squad had a mic and it was a very enjoyable game.

You'd probably bind stuff like RTFM, Press T to request kits, etc. huh

And why not put the basic stuff up on the top....not sure how it is called where the server message rolls..........in a newbie server ?????????????
