Sounds good :)

With the RP ammo bug in 0.609 supply drop had a function it was realistic. Now you can setup a RP in 1 sec and have the same functionality as the supply drop. It's dubble standard here where you have to wait 5 min for a supply drop.

You can get "advanced" kits such as the H-AT and R-AA kits from the supply drop that you can't get from rallies.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

If I remember rightly, the time it takes for Supply Drops, Artillery and Vehicle Drops to "reload" in the commander's window is static; we have no way of changing it (which is largely why Artillery has been removed rather than tinkered with).

As such, the only effective way of altering the time it takes for a player to receive a supply crate after requesting it from their commander is the descent speed.

If you're a squad leader and *know* you're going to need a crate (for heavy kits - HAT, MANPADS etc, or because you need ammo resupplies on a Control Point) - just order it well in advance.

If you're moving into an area of operations, order it while you're still 300-400m away, and use your SOFLAM to accurately request it up ahead. If you're moving on a CP, request it the second the flag goes neutral - when the flag goes grey, the enemy KNOW you're on the flag anyway, so seeing a crate will not alert them any more than they are already. If you're defending a flag, order one before you arrive on the scene or when the order first comes through - do what I do, too - and as soon as you've ordered one, order a second and if the commander agrees, even take a third.

That way if the enemy sees the first one and kills it, they may well not bother to look up for a second one on the basis that you're unlikely to be able to immediately request it. It also means if the first one gets blown up on the ground, you have a second one on the deck 2 minutes later.

This is an idea we had for a long time now... choppers and trucks "spitting" out a supply crate or ammo dump.
I volunteer for the job of supply drop pilot! :-P
