I read it,since I'd heard all the people complaining about new players not reading it.
It really does help.

Yes.
I heard about PR from someone in a different game. So read the manual, decided it sounded cool and splashed out for a copy of BF2. So bad PR! You earned EA some money!!!

I read the whole thing but still needed help for JuniperM40, ADA, and Hobbs. Sveral others in DVB and TG helped out alot too.

Nope, been around for a long while that change logs sufficed. And if they didn't, there would be an influx of questions after every patch and that would pretty much answer it for me haha.

Yep..I read it..but you would never know it by seeing me play. I choke more than the NY METS, I constantly make the same mistakes over and over again, that the Army has actually contacted ME and said..."NO THANKS". I am so bad at this game that the NOOBS call me UBERNOOB. Maybe its because I have no ability to absorb anything new..kinda like the old clique that states, "You cant teach an Old Dog New Tricks". Not Withstanding my suckiness, I love the game and continually refer back to the manual, especially after a wonderful round of 3 kills and 20 deaths.
Cheers

I read the manual, and then read the forums to find out about the server config files. Then, I changed them to allow all kits without limitations, loaded up PR, created a LAN server with the first map that looked like it might have some vehicle diversity, and tried out every kit, and hopped in every vehicle just to get the feel of it.
I do this for all games/mods, BTW. Sometimes I don't even read the manual, I just create an online server and go through all the weapons/classes/vehicles/options, etc, only checking the manual later the get the precise values of more defined answers.

People say to "RTFM", yet those people haven't read it? How ironic...

After a major argument on ventrilo, both I and the offended part furiously read out loud sections of the manual to each other to prove our point.
Then, just in case it would happen again, I printed the manual, read threw it and currently baiting anybody for a new fight so that I can win that one.

I haven't read it yet actually, I picked up most of it by trial and error...
Now that I'm playing more tho, I've started checking more into it to get a better feel for the mod.

Many of th people saying RTFM, or its nicer variants have also been with the mod for a long enough time, that not every installment is this huge ridiculous mass of a million new things. it all adds on the previous one...
Thats not to say that each installment isnt monumental in my eyes

I feel a popquiz coming up.
A) When can you get an officers kit?
B) How many do you have to be in a squad to get a crewmanskit?
C) How many has to be in a server to get a sniper kit?
D) How long must a bunker stay alive before you gain points?
E) How many points?
F) Can a medic heal himself up?
H) If you have a parachute, how many seconds must pass before you can safely open your chute and land?
I) Can the militia request kits?
For the record, one of them is a trick question.
Lets put those RTFM to the test.
