The British Armed Forces don't use the SRAW, they do however use the Javelin. So why would they be stuck with the SRAW???

Could you not just include the strait ahead one IF SUCH EXISTS but not the top down attack mod.
I am sure there a number of methods of guidance (fireforget, "laser guided" - basical similar to the heli missile) for the strait ahead mod that could be used but having just this mode would make the weapon must less overpowering becuase most hits would be to the horizontal axis of the tank and not the vertical axis. Therefore making it more difficult to destroy the tank becuase their is more armour on the front, sides and back than on the top generaly.

To me, if i am correct about it having a strait ahead mode, it would be more realistic to include the weapon with that mode only RATHER than have the British use the American SRAW.

A comperamise and i hope and one that you will consider.
Yeah Javelin have 2 fire mode : top and front....

BTW i think Javelin can be realy great to seen... Yeah it can blown a tank by only 1 strike... cause IRL... thats why a Javelin is made for...

if you look Javelin and Hellfire they look pretty like the same size...

Perhaps a long lock time would be in order, seeing as the personnel operating it can't just fire when they have something in their sight. Could it be made so it doesn't fire at all unless you have a target and it's locked to avoid anti-air/other misuse?

Or maybe a way to guide it mid flight (while your character is vulnerable so you want to use it while protected) to open up building/area attacks instead of vehicle only? Maybe, to counteract no lockon, it could be made so that the missle doesn't actually fire until 2-5+ seconds pass?

Also, you could let the forward firing act as the SRAW would, perhaps damagewise as well, making only the top fire mode "instant" kill? Reload wise I don't see a big deal; 1 missle with the 15 sec prep/reload time? Why not?

Kit loadout of HAT now: Pistol, 2 rockets, Binocs, Field Dressing.
Kit loadout for HAT javelin: Pistol, 1 rocket (perhaps "firing modes" could be represented as the 1-A scale being 1 for straight on, A for air-attack mode), Binocs, Field Dressing.

Limits could be placed on it such as a previous poster said about maybe limiting its numbers to 1 per team? Size could also be a factor, maybe too big and unwieldy to carry onto a helicopter. Maybe it would need two people to carry it as I have seen that sometimes it takes more than one person to use it as seen from Iraq War videos.

sould make the HAT luncher for US and brit the LAT and give them the Javelin to them as the HAT.

we realy need that favelin as an tank killer "iv played maney games ware the T90s pushed us back and were geting guned down by them from out of sight. we also lost all of are tanks. the US tank has an soft spot that seem to be hit from any side the T90s come from.iv been 1 hit killed by T90s more then once.

LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT THE JAVELIN SYSTEM:

Have a warning for that. Completley uninformed opinion. Let's set you straight....the British Javelin has stronger optics (better magnification for improved target confirmation), tweaked NVS (better thermal picture) and a tripod (better targeting and engagement stability), compared to the barebones US system ;) We also don't use SRAW. Ever.

PS) Javelins tear T-90s new bum holes. No idea why people think T-90s irl are immune to Javelin fire? There is not one tank currently in service in the world that would withstand a strike from this in top attack.

nobody said that

IF the javaline hit the t90 , then of couse the t90 will make boom .

BUT chanse of hitting a t90 that have the shtora system are few , also , pointing the javalines to a t90 can make you the target , since t90 can know from where is coming the lazer/misil that is pointing at him .

are these "facts" confirmed and demonstrated on multiple accounts and from a reputable resource? Or do you so desperately want this to be true that you would believe it and if it was proven to be false? Sounds like you got it from a propaganda magazine really...

The two pictures are not in the same scale, Hotrod. The Hellfire is about 6 feet long and weighs 100 lbs. Javelin missile/launch tube weighs about 30+ lbs.

Both will ruin your day, though. The Hellfire will do it from farther away and leave many more pieces.

The Javelin isn't laser guided, Sicario. The crew doesn't have to track the tank in its sights through the duration of the missile flight. Once they shoot, they'll move.
