correct, lots of reskinning, new materials, new sounds, new maps and an extra new 300+mbs ontop of the current mod size
hardest thing thou is that every thing would require a new skin, and that is a hell of alot more than most people would think.

What do you mean, you can wait?
If you want winter skins for everything, you lot should start putting the effort in to either sourcing skinners or learning the trade yourselves and demonstrating that there's scope for a community project on it!

Would you like to reskin everything then? Just because the British receieved 2 different skins in PR doesn't mean it's going to be easy reskinning everything...

Perhaps we can scrap one of those community factions and do this instead. How about the community faction with the least progress gets scrapped.

They're all pretty much at a steady pace... No need to give a slap to the face of the communiy faction developers who already made their work

If you are planning to add the Russian force to the game why not go down that route to introduce the whole winter scenario
A snow covered city would be a step in the right direction... of course new sounds, textures, code, models etc would have to also be done
Russians v Militia in a cold winter town/city...

Russia vs. Militia wouldn't be possible cause of the teams.
Code: Select all
Example:
Team One:US Forces, British Armed Forces, Canadian Forces, Israeli Defense Forces and Polish Forces
Team Two:Middle Eastern Coalition, People's Liberation Army of China, Insurgents, Militia and Russian Forces
Team One is an enemy of Team Two so Russian Forces and Militia couldn't be enemys.
I think that this would be the arrangement of the forces.

Well an Afghanistan map could have snowy terrain. They get some snow, especially in the mountainous border region. Personally, I'd rather see the devs spending their time on the mod as a whole however. All that skinning= a *****.

A city would not be the smartest thing to start with when making your first snow map as every static needs to have a snow texture.

Afaik Russia is team 2 and Militia is team 1
And the main enemy of Russia is Militia

No it doesn't, just because the faction is on "Team 2" doesn't mean they're on the, "bad guy" or "good guy" team...

thats not what i want to say. But i've read somewhere that "Team One" cant fight "Team One" for example.

A lot of work associated with creating a proper snow environment. It seems especially one of those out of the way things as all you're really doing to adding more visuals to the game.
Seeing as how the devs have their work cut out for them, I imagine the best chance to see snow in the game would be through community support. At the same time though... who wants to make a community project dedicated to snow?
Though it would be nice I suppose. Especially with the Russians coming in now, it might be nice to have a Russian v.s PLA in Siberia. Perhaps more Korea and Northern China based maps as well.
I imagine even before PR starts working on snow, maybe one of the other BSS buddies are up to winter work at the moment? Battlegroup-Frontlines, Northern Conflict, Operation Peacekeeper etc. all seem likely to have interest in snow also.
