I still don't reckon explosives would take out wire but nevermind. The C4 right clicking to take out cutters is a good idea, but I think little details like this the devs are gonna leave till much later so I reckon the wrench would probably end up been used for such a task for a pretty long time.

I've just read a little about the Somme, and there even after bombarding for days the wire defences remained intact. This because the British used HE shells with little shrapnel working. (amongst other things) The HE just tost the wire around but their structure remained intact, shrapnel would have cut it into pieces.
(BTW not all the British battalions went over the top like they were on training grounds, quit a few had dug trenches to crawl close before the attack.)

Yeah stuff like razor wire has too much (If my half a years education in engineering, before I dropped out, serves me correctly) tensile strength for explosives to do much to it I'd imagine. Unless you smeared C4 directly onto the wire itself it's not likely to do anything and it'd only do anything probably due to the heat it would cause.

Anyway quoting BetterDeadThanRed again "I think blasting apart wire covered in razors is a bad plan to begin with." Nuff said

4 years physics, UsArmy, then 24 years at a place that designed large very-loud explosives.

It'll work, trust me.

WRT razor wire. Fragments of any blown wire are nasty, some grenades use notched wire exactly for this reason. I'd definitely take cover first.
