well i tried all except for making a new name. ill try it in a bit and post back with results.
whats your specs, maybe you just need a little upgrade somewherewildchild626 wrote:changed my nick and it worked but then i realized it was on low settings so i switched to high and got the lock up. switched to med and it runs fine. i play bf2 on high with 70+fps but i guess i cant run pr at high.
i dont know squat about laptops but like banner said vista is a ram hog. that could be part of the problem. processor seems a little slow at 1.5 or is that 1.5x2? i donnowildchild626 wrote:running vista
T5250 @ 1.50GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.5GHz
2 gigs of ram
geforce 8600 gt.
dont know to much about computers its a lap top so i dont know if i can upgrade stuff.
Yeh, he must have a dual core laptop as he put 1.5Ghz (2 CPU)JustMe wrote:i dont know squat about laptops but like banner said vista is a ram hog. that could be part of the problem. processor seems a little slow at 1.5 or is that 1.5x2? i donno
maybe someone who knows more about laptops can help

So he has 3Ghz overall.
But i heard BF2 doesn't like multicores
Sarge
so he has a 1.5 dual core? im no expert on this stuff, learning myself.Alex6714 wrote:No, 1.5Ghz and 2 cores does NOT equal 3Ghz.
And I have a dual core, and BF2 runs like a charm.
He has dual core, but dual core doesnt double your speed, it just means you have 2 cores at that speed.JustMe wrote:so he has a 1.5 dual core? im no expert on this stuff, learning myself.
No, having 2 cores does NOT double your speed. It lets you do more, and stuff on different cores, but at 1.5Ghz. And the recommended 2.4GHz depends on your processor. Maybe you need a 2.4GHz pentium 4 to play BF2, but a 1.6GHz core 2 duo would probably be even better, even though it has a slower clock speed.wildchild626 wrote:its like 2.92Ghz total.
CPU Speed
Recommended: 2.4 GHz
You Have: 1.50 GHz Performance Rated at 2.92 GHz
