mines can't be burried or explode when soldier walks on it

exactly. And this is also why we should be able to deploy the pile of mud/sand/whatever even if there isn't a mine. Maybe allow one to be deployed every minute by the SL? (The time limit is there so that you can't just spam an area full of these mud piles)

It's really effective, at least in real life it is. You can block a road pretty much just with a little dirt, the enemy will still have to check it carefully for mines.

Good idea.

I still think a re-skinned Claymore would be the way to go for anti-personnel explosives .

Would it be possible that the only player class that gets close to it, without triggering an explosion, is engineer?

It would make the inclusion of an engineer in a squad vital for defusing booby traps/mines and make him more than just a Jihad/repair class. The rest of the squad has to provide cover while he's doing his job.

they are different, the mound of dirt idea doesnt really suit itself to anti personel mines very well, as infantary are alot more mobile.

thats not to say anti infantary mines shouldnt return.

But i'd be more happy with clays on a clacker, even if they were hard to see.

Imagine the anti inf mines being put at the tops of ladders and just around corners atd in door ways, just like regular bf2, do you really want that?

even on a limited kit with propper ammo support a multitude of mines would be achieveable.

it's simple... just make the AT mines invisible after using the shovel on them like if the engineer was hiding them on the ground. But of course they will still be there and explode if a vehicles steps on them.

Which IMO is the stupidest idea ever. There are no such things as invisible mines as far as I know, and burying mines isn't realistic as when you think of pavement, rock and other very solid material.

In any case, deploying the sand pile isn't something I particularly like. Given the size of the mines, and the difficulty in trying to deploy objects in a certain way it might be the best option. Not to mention deployable sand piles sound stupid. I prefer the idea of shoveling the mine and having a sand pile appear over the mine.
Some of you guys think that would be too noticeable, well considering a lot of people don't notice mines right now, I doubt a small pile of sand would be anymore noticeable. Hell some people can't tell if the person they're shooting at is friend or foe.
