If you say the grenade launcher is weak you are really mistaken. I was playing EJOD Desert a few days ago, and I took out whole squads with 1 grenade round! At the end I had like 24 kills. So, the grenade launch is pretty beast.

Yeah, tube is a beast. Once I took out 15 guys with two shots. OGT I was on the south side of the river at the bottom and I shoot into the bunker where all the guys were capturing, Nades flew thru the window taking everyone inside. Its not a weak/should be regular weapon.

Well in vanilla on karkand 2 one of my favorite tactics as MEC was to spawn at the mosque with all my squad as grenadiers, head for the south bridge and repeatedly nade the west flag. My squad usually ended up with 15 kills for no death, and the enemy stunned. To be honest I think it's fair the US grenadier doesn't have a scope... I should be the same for the PLA.

Light AT and Grenadier was a default, unlimited kit for every faction, meaning you could spawn with it, creating zergy AT/noob tube squads everywhere.

Maybe you only played .5 Al Basrah? :|
I know that they both were unlimited, but there was far more ppl using the L-AT kits than grenadier

Mosque, South bridge, West flag?? On KARKAND? What are you smoking mate?

I think that he's talking about Strike at Karkand 2, a map which used to be in PR. And yep, a grenadier could make a killing there.

@ OP:
UGLs are developed/partly developed from the old Rifle Grenades and Knee Motars that were used in World War 2

so use the UGL like a light mortar, and if u havent worked out how to use the aiming on the UGL then use vbf2 for that

on a personal note, id like to see the L85A2/AG-36 re-moddeled, cos i cant stand to look at the EA made one, ugh

L3adCannon wrote:GL should be limited, the thing rips squads appart and is one hell of a scare for advancing enemies. I use it constantly and I love it. Making it a default would make it too bloody powerful and easy to own with.
Just don`t fire it right after running and so. Take careful aim before fireing.

Now RPG imo should be a regular class for the insurgents. They were just so bloody awesome and making them pick-up sucked all the fun out of being an insurgent.
1. the Greandier kit is limited

2. (example AL Basrah: British APCS (or British in general) would not survive long if RPGs were default, but there is alot more than u think (2-3 at Mosque, 1 at village, plus many others on random caches)

Yep. With some training you can shoot moving targets 2 grids away.

And it should stay limited to avoid abuse (e.g. basecamping from 2 grids away)

I actually started playing just after .5 was released, and I never really experienced many launched grenade kills/deaths. LAT was more of a problem than GLs for me, and I never used the GL in the first place. Clearly, my experience is unique.

Dont because its totally different. The blast radius on bf2 is tiny but they are alot easier to fire on the move, the aiming for m203 was changed in 0.6 so that you should pause before firing.

To get what I mean always right click when aiming, the delay will force you to pause more and you should see far more accuracy. Stay still, kneel on a point and turn only with the mouse, aim that way

like a knee mortar

Not used one of those but I guess so, mortarmen is a seperate class that might come in I think

But yes you should be staying still, its different from 0.5 because of the aiming not the limited class thing

They should be made more available methinks (more than 5 per team) but not unlimited. They also need more explosive rounds... I love them. Great for leveling the playing field on USMC vs MEC maps.

Nothing beats firing a 203 round into a small group of MEC guys in the knowledge that had they got the chance, their heavier rounds would have ripped you to shreds in a split second. Instead, they go boom! :D
