When you place the C4 it switches to your detonator, and when your at your detonator you can right click to switch to binoculars.
So, Pull out binocs > right click to get the C4 > Place > Pull out detonator > right click to pull out binoc's > left click to trigger.
thats a very good idea.

how about make it work like a iron sight view does on a gun. you choose the C4, drop it, then when you have the detanator in your hand you hit right mouse button to switch to "iron sight" which would be binocs.

The problem is...
...detonator is your "iron sight" already.

What's so hard about saying "Get ready..." and "Now!"? There isn't that much of a lag on VoIP.

It would take a little bit of organization.
It would take another person out of the fight - so you have two people 'doing nothing' instead of one. (if you can find someone willing to do it!)
And anyway - the spotter is still within normal visual range - so there is no advantage! The whole point is to make ieds longer range and therefore less risky.
Ideally it would go -
select C4.
left click to place c4.
right click switches to detonator view.
some other key toggles 'binocular' view. (not right click - it reselects C4)
left click to detonate.
It's not a huge deal - just think it would be kind of cool. It would also be good if the explosions were bigger, with smoke etc... (without causing any more damage than it does currently)
but thats asking for a lot.
