Encouraged to do what?
I dont see what the problem is. I play this mod because I like it, and there really are not that many people who play it, and if you dont want to play because you lose whos fault is that?
Like they say dont hate the players....

This is becoming a bit of a circular argument. The thing is, it's up to the players. There is no reason the better players should take the 'well that's too bad for you' route and to be honest the newer players can't expect things to be easy just for them. As I've said before, you get better by playing with better people. Even if it is occasionally getting totally destroyed. You should pick up the tactics they use and employ them yourself. I realize that is being a little harsh but unfortunately that is the way it could be until you improve a little and just remember to play for fun and remember it's just a game. As far as the better players go I would again hope that as the better players you try to (when you can) give the new guys a hand up. It is not easy being new.

Personally, I pretty much agree with the people that say you should have equal skill on each team. It is no fun to get decimated time after time.
Those that say it is nicer to play together with those you know are right, of course. But then, it's also fun (maybe even more fun) to beat those you know. (Right, Blake? :twisted

And in a way, I find it fun as well as rewarding to help those new to the mod find their way around. It may be a little harder to co-operate with people you don't know, but that doesn't mean you can't try. And eventually, you'll get used to those people too.
If you are used to playing with two or three others on the same team, well, you could also take your friends and join the other team together. Form a squad, invite some new guys, and you can still play together and at the same time you can help others to get the same fun out of the game as you do.

if you cant do CQB you don't belong with BF2 as it seems that the BF2 engin was designed for urban warfare.

Let me reiterate that this is not a whine, or an attack on any of the better players on the servers. This is merely a suggestion, or a helpful hint, as I've mentioned before. It's not suggesting that you pamper new players all the time, but it is rather suggesting that you take into consideration that the team you've beaten within five minutes from start to finish six rounds in a row with little difficulty.. might not be having as much fun as you. If some of those players are new, they may very well give up due to sheer frustration.
If you want a more tactical, immersive environment, your best bet is to lead the newbies by example. Join up with them, give them a good, sound plan of attack and help them execute it. If they meet with success, they'll be damn well hooked forever. One good, well executed match is all it really takes.
They'll respect you for your ability to lead, not your ability to kill them two milliseconds after they spawn in for the ninth time in a row. You might even make a couple of new friends.

I totally agree with you.
I hope also that since spawn camping is probably the most frustrating thing in a game that there is a way to fix it.

If you veteran PRMM players could do this it would be greatly appreciated! I've done it a few times myself now and it makes life-long PR converts. We all want to see the mod grow and I'm convinced that if enough of us help out the greenhorns like this we will see some great results.

BluDragon wrote:i wasnt trying to stack the teams, i just enjoy playing with dedmon. we know each others tactics and play well, plus we seem to be the only two with a odd straggler here or there on occassion that use the GH TS server, as im having issues sometimes hearing ingame voip, it really helps to group with him as we can coordinate tactics.
Voip works if you open the right ports on any firewall/router you have - seems to be specific to GH I think. I got in game voip working yesterday.
Anyways, I enjoyed playing US against the "uber" team, mostly, apart from about an hour where there was just me and new people. Most irratating when most of your team just play BF2 style... :-/
Dedmon and BluDragon seem to play everyday for about 8 hours... you guys should... er... get out more

(only so I can catch up).

I can see both points of view on this and have been on both sides myself. (with vet.s vrs getting my *** kicked) both points of view are valid, but one still has more merit then the other. playing with other vets is more fun, but it is truly at the sacrafise of others. I would rather have a lil less fun so that many others caould have a whole lot of fun, and the chance to have new vets to play with in the future. let face it, there are two teams, you will ALWAYS have some1 u know on your team if you are a vet.
with that said. the mec guns suck and put them at a disadvantage. correct me if im wrong, but this game/mod is supposed to be a kind of simulation. that means that the gun should be as accurate as the user. its not a high trained usa marine shooting that gun, its me. I know what would happen in real life, but this is a sim of what would happen if all of us "gamers" took the place of the world armed forces. GAMERS with military equipment. you cant make a gun or a team less accurate cause of the real life skill levels. it sucks, but ill keep playing, hehe
AND ranking sucks and is causing more trouble then it worth. by way of base raping mostly. if you are to the last flag but dont want the game to end, so u tell your team not to take it.... ... so u just sit there and spawnkill, id rather just start a new game, or if u dont want the round to end and your not a rankwhore, then you need to simply defend the closest flag u have, not attack... untill u r going to activly try to take the last flag.
In addition, what ever team the server puts you on, should be team you are stuck with. I think the player should not have a choice. you fight for the country you were born in, usualy. I think team hopping 1 time may be ok, but if they hop back to the team they were on they are traitorus scum and should be executed/banned for that round. whatever the reason.
love the mod.

I agree totally.
As for the MEC guns being less accurate, well, it may well be true but this mod is meant for realism. With this realism is taken in to account the fact that some weapons are more accurate and also the fact that some armies receive better training than others. To simulate this all in game you will have to decrease the accuracy of some weapons. It seems though, that the problem lies with not tweaking the US rather than with tweaking the MEC too much.

If the DEVs find this is really the case (which it appears to be) then I have no doubt it will be fixed as soon as possible.
You will have to find and use your weapon's strengths and weakenesses. E.g. taking on a sniper at 200 metres, when you have only a side-arm is not very smart. Instead, try to use stealth and get closer to the sniper. His field of vision will be limited when he is looking through the scope, and his weapon is not for use in close quarters combat. Get close to him and you will be in the position to kill him. It's all about tactics.
