Another point is that sometimes there really isn't any reason to dig up an old thread. If an idea got shot down in the past, and someone suggest exactly the same thing again, what's the point? The devs aren't going to implement, so there's no point in discussing it.

So that everyone can see what were the reasons for verdict at the first place. You guys aren't any public servants and not obliged for it, but grounding a ruling still comes with good manners. Still it's up to you how you do it, this is just my recommendation.

Personally its their mod, their site.... their rules...

They don't have to babysit people who are too lazy to search up threads with an idea to see why it got shot down - or debated in an argumentative way.

"Still it's up to you how you do it" - Damn straight lol
Woo my threads haven't gotten shot down ( Like the 5 of them >.> )

Because it really isn't that hard for the poster to find out himself? We have people who are willing to put in the trouble to keep the "already suggested suggestions" thread up to date, and a search function which works great. If something has been suggested before, the odds are vastly in favour of the poster being able to find it, and if he isn't, all it would take is a pm to me asking for an explanation, if I didn't explain it myself.

fubar++, I assume it was yourself who brought this same issue to the attention of one of our R-PUBs? As well as this thread? Please have another look over the forum rules. Specifically Section 1 (v) & Section 5(vi).

Granted, it's not a 'complaint' per say, but the same rules apply. How the forums are moderated is not up for public discussion, although I am fully open to taking on board suggestions from users VIA THE APPROVED METHOD: PM. :)

The R-MODs carry out their duties here, as well as conduct their real life. I am not going to tie their net time down any further expecting them to post links and do the searching for users who cannot be bothered. Instead, the moderation guidelines the R-MODs follow *recommends* placing a link to an already existing thread on an identical or similar thread, and locking the newest thread/s. We have 35 different forums, subforums & child forums to look after, 24 hours a day. We try our best and ensure that we have a professional routine to what we do, but we aren't paid for this, we do it because we enjoy the community and PR in general.

I personally dread to think how many different searches you could have carried out while posting in this thread and PMing other team members ;) I have taken your point on board, but I still have the same viewpoint as I first did when redrafting the guidelines for R-MODs due to the reasons mentioned above.

Thank you for your suggestion :)
