As long as it will not reload so you can constantly drop flares: YES!
Pilots have to learn that it is dangerous to fly into the open with no cover if there is any AA nearby.
It shouldn`t be possible to fly into a hot zone with any helicopter, drop off soldiers or shoot targets and fly out while constantly dropping flares?

Constantly flare dropping could be annoying as well. Since it's BF2, imagine dropping flares when taking off, landing etc.

I have never heard this before. Constantly dropping flares gives everyone a straight line pointing at you, so that seems like a very foolish thing to do. Also, my janes guide doesn't list anything about flares on any military helicopters.

As far as I know, mounting flares on a helicopter would be tricky, since there's not much room in the fuselage for the launching apparatus. However, for gameplay's sake, I think keeping flares is in everyone's best interest. Lock-on warnings, however, probably should be changed so they happen after a missile is launched, if that's possible in this engine. Of course, flares would then need to be changed so they could divert the missile in mid-flight. This in particular may be frustrating, being that the missiles are already pretty bad, and having one miss after a lock-on could be costly to your entire team if you get taken out by the helicopter you thought you just shot down.
