my guess would be the reason why you are crashing is that your PC is simply running out of memory to generate the minimap. How much RAM dose your PC have?

other than that, cant help you much without more info.

make sure you restart your PC too, thou 2GBs should be enough with also your map looking pretty small, guessing its a 256 or a 512.

it may be a buggy install or something, I would also do the minimap in the level editor thou doubt thats the cause.
