ye but it aint optimized, ie, high poly count, ie, lag.

Its really hard to come from a CAD background into modeling, took me over a year to get my head around it as in both you aim to produce the same thing, something in 3D, just the way you go about it is very diffrent.

Surround (working on the T-80 for the Russians) can animate from what I understand.

ah, I was trying to do it for a while.

It took me forever to finally get a copy of 3D Max, and when I finally got it working it took me a long time to get all the files copied correctly and such, and then after it was all done, BF Editor wouldn't do work properly. I finally gave up and kept working on my demo reel. I was an R-CON for a while, but had to give it up.

But anyway, if you guys wanna see my blog, here it is.

There is a big chance a software engineer or any Indian academic to be familiar to English as over 100 million in India speak English. I checked the hourly average salary for software engineers and it's 4,5 USD, probably even less as there are so many software engineers. Give him a period salary like make him do the job for 1-2 months and I bet he could at least accomplish the weapon animation + much more, for a fixed cost that you will agree upon. I don't think that cost is gonna sky rock, we are talking about India here.

Check the site again http://www.freelanceindia.com/, if you don't want to contact the developers there is a service buyer option, state what you want to be done and the developers will contact you.

Well, AutoCAD and 3D Studio Max are both made by Autodesk so I would believe that there is a chance of importing your 3D CAD drawings into Studio Max and then through all the hoops into the game. Don't quote me on that - it's just a hunch. :-)

Autodesk make many diffrent types of 3D software, I used AutoDesk Inventor a hell of alot at collage, really nice dimension driven CAD, very fast, very accurate thou you couldn't make curved objects that easily like you can in max. all AutoCad, 3DsMAX and Inventor work in very diffrent ways, ive used them all and can use them all pretty well, they are no where near the same.

and nicoliani, if you really think we are going to pay some one to animate for us you must be off your head.... As soon you bring money like that into a free mod which is a non-profit orginisation, ie, the only money we have goes to server costs etc which come from your donations and awards. As soon as you start paying ppl, I know I and many other devs who work soo hard at this mod are not getting paied and this guy on the other side of the world is getting paied to do something that should be done out of passion, not money. Other devs will start to want money, not enough money is there to pay all the devs, the whole system collapse or we end up turning into something like EA where all we think about is money and spend 90% of our time thinking on how we can make more money instead of thinking how we can make the game better.

If you can find any one to work for us cos they want to do it for the same reason all the rest of us do it, thats fine, but we are not going to be paying any one when we already have a perfectly good animator, just hes a little couped out with r/l stuff at the mo and we do not really need to rely on animations as much since we already have a bunch from vbf2, its just nicer to have new animations.

Oright, but can you concider posting the project https://www.realitymod.com/joinpr.html, in there and telling them that they will do it for free but on the other hand they can get good contacts, expirience and CV and we will give them a 5 star to show up on the page.
Will you or should I do it?

I only take donates.

Oright, I will pay the subscripton to be granted their contact info, as soon I get back from my holiday in Thailand, that is in a couple of weeks, or I do it in a internet cafe if I don't got any better to do. The internet is pretty expensive here, 4 USD for an hour.

It is not hard to get animators. you can easily hire them online through freelance sites like Find Best Freelancers At Affordable Prices Some are very skilled animators and you won't even have to pay so much.
