The USMC don't use nightvision in this mod,and if you're talking about in real life, then you're way off. They're NighVision is beautiful,I have friends in the USMC,and they let me visit camp and etc. on Public days...It's amazing some of the stuff they have!
@ Stardust, the NVG,along with gasmasks do appear on your face in BF2:SF,so I think they could maybe take from that.Brining up gas masks, why aren't the Gas Launchers on here???They'd be nice to use against Ins.
Oh and again,a real PR fan wouldn't leave PR,cuz NVG being added to Ins.I haven't left this great, great mod, even though the MEC still have the Havoc...Will it ever be fixed god???At Least COD4 got that right!they gave Russians the Havoc, and Militia/Rebels the "Hind".
Night Vision,quick thought...

Who knew NVGs were such an emotional topic.
Insurgents avoid night fighting, because it is generally beyond their technological level. You may be able to buy NVGs online, but it is much easier for Iran to ship some AKs that have been sitting in a warehouse across the border to insurgents than to buy up a huge shipment of NVGs and have them "disappear". Insurgents avoid night engagements in Iraq and Afghanistan because modern military units are well equipped to fight in the night, and they are not. Also, with the use of curfew, you are going to be flagged as an insurgent the moment you step on the street until you get back inside, making it that much more likely you will die.
So in light of all the above, I would say no. But it doesn't seem to be a big issue because there are currently no maps with nights and insurgents in the works. (AS said by Rhino, all the way up there ^^^)

Its not unrealistic for them to have it but it is unrealistic for them to be fighting at night. They would be at a severe disadvantage and they would not risk getting slaughtered for no reason. Besides the average price for an AK-47 in Iraq is $350 so where do you think the average $1000 fund backing for an insurgent cell would go to. That is why EVERYBODY thinks your idea is retarded.

Not Everyone...The Devs. came up with alternatives, which I'd actually prefer...!
But Oh well,I don't really care,as I said in the thread name "just a quick thought"
Give them a map with moonlight,I don't really care,it'd just be cool. And you need to chill, popping stuff out like,my idea is retarded...Relax,and use stupid and etc....

I wasnt trying to flame but instead finally press the fact your suggestion didnt make much sense and also to keep from denying my post like shot out the others through stubbornness. I would be fun but might be a waste of Dev time. and if you really want NVG basrah then just put green saran wrap over you eyes and Ta DA! Al Basrah Nights!

Yes, I know, I own Battlefield 2: Complete Collection, and indeed NVG and gas masks appear on a soldier's face in BF2: SF, that's why I suggested it in the first place, and since the mod is based on BF2 system and engine, it doesn't seem impossible to do so.agentscar wrote:@ Stardust, the NVG,along with gasmasks do appear on your face in BF2:SF,so I think they could maybe take from that.
