I really hate the TV missile camera, as I used it to find targets on the run.
I knew, there was a tank, fired the missile and as it went, the map got revealed and I found the tank out of heli's view range and busted it. Realistic?

Well thats how laser guided weapons work they must be painted they do not lock on. There is good reason why modern attack choppers dont use tv guided missiles and that is that tanks normally dont sit still.

Dude, no helicopter would survive a close encounter with AAA or SAM. It's called
anti-air for a good reason. By the way, it works with the balance:
Anti-air > Aircraft > Tanks/ground targets

IIRC , hellfires dont need ANY type of paiting from ground forces , they just se the heat signature of the target and fire , no need to keep the target in sight ,no need to be painted by groun forces , etc .

As for the missiles. The Laser Guided mode (slot 3) has zoom capability like the gun and handles much like the TOW in vBF2. This simulates the continuous painting a hellfire missile would use in LOBL (Lock-on before launch) mode.
(Since the view in the chopper is not stabilized for the gunner as it is in reality, it will be a little more challenging to use while on the move)
The Laser Target mode will lock on any laser targets that are not attached to a friendly vehicle. They can be set by anyone using a SOFLAM. Also the commander can place one using the map. (Not recommended for missiles due to limited precision) The laser target can also be placed by the gunner himself or by a co-pilot in a small attack helicopter. Targeting on the move or targeting a moving target from the helicopter are VERY hard (engine restrictions) thus this mode is preferable if someone else provides the target or to place a target for a bomber from a helicopter.
As for the release: I finished and published the manual. So we are obviously not adding anything new. I'd expect 0.7 to be in final test phases due to be released as soon as it is deemed free of any problems we don't want you to have. Can't really tell you more than what you already should be able to realize.

Solution:
Have your tanks go in, with helo support behind. Tanks take out the AAV's, while Helo's work against enemy Tanks.
OMGZ Joint Ops! What a thought?
seriously though, if you think you're a godly helo pilot, you're already screwed, because you're underestimating a gunner that has an idea of how to lead a target. Also, you're overestimating your own skill. You need to be afraid of AA, which was usually a joke, so finally you're going to get what you deserve.
The only problem i see from this, which really isnt much of a problem is that if it's the same type of ATGM's that the A-10/Frogfoot gets, tanks are screwed, which isnt totally unrealistic, just.. less fun. (Insert paragraph on Tanks + AAV joint ops yea!!!")

well i imagine its like firing a HAT on the move and guiding it which is basically impossible. I believe this will render the choppers EXTREMELY wounrable to ground fire. I will just have to see how it works but with the gun being impossible to shoot with zoom while doing any sort of movement i can believe it will be the same with the missiles.

I think im gonna have some really fun time in tanks in 0.7

Coz to me it seems like chopters have to hover for a little while to get a lock or to guide the missile manually. So... Good luck to you chopter pilots/gunners out there (including myself)
But meh. 0.7 isnt out yet so we cant really be sure

you can say what you want.. but i don't like this new old system.. it takes time and time is critical for pilots..

Do you now how quick you can aim the tank cannon at the chopter and fire?

depends on the crew of both vehicles but on a map like Kashan if the Chopper isn't hugging the ground and hiding behind Mountains its at a big disadvantage
