It's not so much the heat warping the armour, it's the fuel that seeps through hatch seals, sight units and periscopes. We use old tanks hulls for fire fighting and they are burnt on a regular basis for several minutes at a time. They've been sat there over 20 years and the metal is still solid, although a bit black.... :)

Mix something like sugar or gelatine with the petrol and it will stick like baby poo to a blanket.

Nearly all AFV's are fitted with some form of fire fighting capability within the engine/transmission compartments and a lot of newer ones have seperate system for the crew compartments. In theory a vehicle could carry on even when on fire but theory never works in practise.

Back to PR, I think a realistic option would be severely obscured vision for the driver and commander to simulate the sighting system being obscured by smoke and flames for a period of 1 minute or so. It gives them chance to bail out or move the vehicle to a safe area whilst it's burning. An engineer would be needed for minor repairs but the vehicle should be pretty much functional after the fire is out.

This simulates the vehicle being damaged and temporarily removes the asset from the game but also give the enemy ample opportunity to destroy it if the crew leaves the vehicle in a bad position.

Ahh so you get the flammable stuff start seeping through the seals that aren't very good. Flammable stuff + inside of hot AFV = RUN?
Is there a way Mr. Dev can make the tanks more likely to catch fire from a molotov?
I think the view obstruction could be done with some different fire... more... fire like :D with the right texture the fire itself will obscure vision and that will also act to make sure you get the molotov in the right place.

Crew injury? After minutes being epxosed to fire, Possible?

and finally...

FIRE EXTINGUISHER!!! ohhh can we have one please? :D

IMO it would be much more realistic for molotovs to do nothing to armor than to have them be the uber anti-tank weapons they are now. Once the "magic molotov" bug is fixed, armor strategy will be much different on Basrah.

Edit: this is somewhat OT but I think warriors can also be killed now by emptying a clip into their treads...
