I'd watch your attitude. Especially during this post release... Everyone's a tad tightly wound...

If you can't find it in yourself to trust a group consisting of many current and ex-military personnel, I don't know what else to tell you...

I place C4 and dont even see a clacker to press after 5+ or any secs, it flashes on screen and dissapears. Re-arming C4 and trying again = same result. No clacker to press.

This has happened since 0.7

With disconnect bugs (which Ive accepted because its such a great mod) and can't build anything as commander (which is really neccessary in this version) and can't destroy any enemy assets cause high explosives don't work is getting a bit too much for my liking.

Please do not take this as dissing the great work that has been done by the mod team as I love the concept but things still need to work as they were intended to work by the Devs.

Patiently awaiting a patch.

Thanx

{Have now played rounds with C4 clacker visible and working as it should. Awesome power.}

Ok here is what I tried after the answers to my first post.

1. I chose Combat Engineer.
2. I select C4.
3. I place it and waited 10 seconds. I actually watched my watch for this one.
4. I clicked the clacker.
5. Nothing happened.
6. I waited 10 more seconds just to be certain it wasn't some kind of delay timer after hitting the clacker.
7. Still nothing.
8. C4 disappeared as if something happened. Did not see it where I placed it.
9. Test vehicle (Jeep) remained intact as if nothing happened.
10. C4 no longer in inventory, bringing up clacker again result in a quick click and then the clacker is put away again.

My Ping was sub 100ms. My computer sucks and so I don't know how FRAPS would work while playing the game. Don't know since I've never used it. I was on the Tactical Gamer PR US server. And it was some random Jeep some squad had left in the middle of no where.

Instead of posting this in the suggestions section.

BTW is it ok to take out vehicles left in the middle of no where with no squads or anyone near them? Obviously they are being wasted since no one else can use them back at the base to drive anywhere. Yet you get team vehicle damage by taking them out to help your team. Is this a necessary evil and something we just need to accept negative points for? Or would it be better to put a timer on each vehicle to automatically be damaged and destroyed after 20 minutes?

There is a timer on them i believe, but I think its on the high end to allow a squad to leave it and come back for it

i used to have a problem with c4 in.6 when i placed it. it would blow off in my face, like my mouse was on click-lock or something. I started taking my time and made a slow and calm official click to place it and moved my finger from the mouse abruptly. Then ran away and blew it. If you ever had it go off in your face , like that, we'll its not gonna happen now, it will just cause it to be a dud. I have to do a quick mouse tap so it does not make a dud. I hold it out a few seconds before i drop it ,too.

Well something odd happened last night... the C4 actually worked correctly. I was rather pleasantly surprised by that. Put the C4 on an enemy bunker, ran away from it. Counted to 7 (1 Mississippi... 2 Mississippi...) clicked the clacker and I heard the BOOM. Looked back over there and the bunker was toast. I was so happy that I nearly forgot to hide again.

What happens if i lay my c4, press the button before 5 seconds, does the c4 get nerfed and I have no more c4 or do i get another pair in my inv? or can i just press the button again

somtimes when you have good cover and youre in a hurry; the last thing you want to worry about is a delay on the switch.... so whatever a delay

OK DONT LET THE THING DISAPPEAR NOW TOO, THATS THE PROBLEM HERE :d uh:

As I said in another thread. If you want to put a delay of 5 seconds on C4 that's perfectly ok. No sweat. But please make it so if you press the clicker a fraction of a second too early that the C4 doesn't become a dud and useless. Allow us to be able to press the clicker again after 5 seconds are up.

Theres nothing more frustrating than sneaking around the long way to get behind an APC, successfully run in, plant the c4 and make it back to cover without being taken out only to wait 5-6 seconds AFTER getting to cover (So really 6-8seconds since planting at least), hit the detonator and ............... nothing happens....

The timer is good, but as everyone else has said, please let us detonate it after the 5 seconds it even if we clicked too early by mistake.

i think the biggest problem that most people have and i have had myself is that in your enthusiasm to lay the C4 you kinda double click and this automaticaly makes the c4 a dud as you are clicking before the 5 seconds delay is done. What used to happen was you blow yourself up of course (in 0.6 and before) but that never felt that bad as you felt at least you took something down with you!.

This is amplified by lag and the slowness of the animation to lay the c4 and often you dont even notice that you have dudded the c4.

What i would like to see to sort out this problem is for the clicker to be activated using the alternative fire button, so you lay the c4 with primary and blow it with secondary. other than that the system works fine and solves alot of problems it all just comes down to that problem of dudding your c4 when you lay it.
