I don't think they should get (essentially) 2 primary weapons.

ah hell he's already been corrected my bad anyway i didnt say 2 primary weapons i said atleast make the shotgun a secondary

Secondary as in a rifle in one slot and a shotty in the unlockable slot? In that case, it makes sense.
But if you have a rifle and a shotgun in the same kit that would be basically like having 2 primary weapons, even if you call the shotty a secondary

i mean the shotgun would replace the M9 many troops use shotguns as a secondary

The obvious solution is to have the engineer hole an M16 in one and the Super 90 in the other so he can use both at once... a fair compromise in my book.
OR
We could give the engineer the choice of either an M4, with out the fancy gismos of course, or a shotgun... as was said before.
PS. The masterkey gave me night mares... the one in DCR at least.

Perhaps just the basic M4, with the shotgun attachment? Seeing as it is no longer as powerful as vanilla, which was unfair, it seems fair enought to me, what do you guys think?

Maybe a choice of 2 weapons, but not having both weapons. Thats a little overkill.
And the M4 with the Masterkey would be the bomb, but not for an engineer. too much firepower and less dependency for a support oriented role.
I honestly think the shotgun is the perfect weapon for the enginner. He is dependant on other classes for protection. He has all his goodies to make him valuable(he should get the C4 IMO) He has the means to defend himself if he gets cornered. I think it's a pretty well balanced weapon for him to have. If you don't like getting slaughtered at range, stay with a squad to protect you.

Good point. I find that I use the pistol more effectively while an engineer anyway, and having the two ammo types in project reality makes it even better. I think that it's fine as it is really, it's a specialised class, so not many people use it, but those who do are usually very good at it.

You need to stop watching movies.... All the info you post is nonsense! You have no idea what you are talking about. I feel bad for the developers having to read to posts like yours. 3 shells......lmao....

Hitperson asked you to stop, I suggest you stop.
He did ask politely instead of any "yo fool, what you say about my deagle pwns da shizz man" etc etc. Having another jab at him is taking the rip.
This thread is running the risk of closure, as I cannot see it going any further.
1)give the engineer a shotty
2)give the engine a carbine weapon
3)Give the engineer a carbine weapon, but a small shotty or entry tool.
4)Give the engineer the option of carbine or shotty.
5)Give the assault class an underslung shotgun (I don't like the sound of this idea. it is meant for forced entry, yet I can see someone waiting behind a corner before jumping out and letting you "taste the lead". Also, Brits don't use it, china most probably doesn't use it and I can't see the MEC using it. If we did give the US an Underslung benelli, what do the other teams have instead?
6)Pwn the engineer and get another class.

This thread has served it's purpose. I think we have seen plenty of opinions on this suggestion. Things are starting to get off topic. No need for any further discussion.
