BF3 is probably 100% un-moddable.
Ah, a little cynicism makes me laugh. DICE and EA definitely screwed up on the mod support for BF2, but as someone said before, look what the PR DEVs have done. If it really is terrible (and most people thought BF2 was pretty bad), I'm sure whoever may/does continue the project will pick a better engine.
But for now discussing new engines is basically pointless. Wait for 1.0 and then start sending the DEVs money for blow, hookers, and beer, along with your desired game to be modded.

I don't see a PR transition to Frostbite at all until at least 3 months after BF3 is released. You have to see if the game will sell before making a mod. If you don't have the client base for a new mod a lot of hard work goes down the tubes.
I really hope to see PR on Frostbite because personally it will be the only good thing to come from the BF3 release. Everything I've heard about BF3 makes it less desirable.

Nothing to add but I’m still playing BF2 only with Pr now….I tried to go back when 0.6 came out and would not work for me and it was scary…..
In bf2 I felt the guns were not worth using for covering fire after all who was caring if you got hit. on PR different story one hit and it can be major.
You forget how old this game is, just realised it was 2005 as it came through the door on my mates wedding day.
Anyway I hope Pr keeps going as its more or less the game BF should have been a few years ago.

That's interesting...the DEVs have stated that they don't see one at all yet. You must have great vision.

Every time you as if the devs are gonna move to a new engine, a kitten dies.
