I dont know... i do miss the a10's... those were good ol days. I know its unfair now, but at least a littlebird transport instead of the constant glitchign merlin would be a sweet alternative.
I guess the brits have to fight their way out of the airport now...seems realistic, no?

ehh... not really, the second anybody peeks out the front door an IED will just pop off, and theres plenty of more of them on the way after that one. I mean insurgents are still able to come in with their suicide cars to the airport and iv seen this 3 nights ago, where i spawn at airport, and im not kidding, i see about 9 dead brits laying all around the airport with a suicide car blown up in the middle of the mess... shouldnt that be changed? make the bleed effect on the insurgent kill them twice as fast so they cant just blow us up everytime we spawn at airportt and wait for a vehicle cuz all the noobz already destroyed them?

They have a Merlin to land super1337 spec ops to take them out. Or AT/M249 them from the air.
Besides, the British can destroy all the bridges to the palace and rape all the cars that spawn at it, so it's even.

if you want to "run n gun", i say play bf2, if you want the reality, get this............**** THANK GOD THEY GOT RID OF THE MINI MAP*********. makes it so much more realistic. sorts out the men from the boys lol.

you can always climb on the sandbags and try to pick off the insurgents. Hell, maybe the commander can assign a sqd to patrol the airport or try any other number of tactics. the point is that it may be difficult to get out of the airport, but not impossible. personally i think it makes it even more challenging....and frustrating, but that seems to be one of the side effects of BF2...frustration from one thing or another.

Isn't there a kill zone around the airport?
These are insurgents not a regular army, they shouldn't be launching an offensive on the airport, the normal base defenses should mean that they wouldn't be able to get within a 1000 feet of the barricade around it, let alone plant charges in the gate way.
Insurgents should be hiding in buildings, on roof tops and down alleys, along the routes to the cache points, to ambush the Brits as they come into the built up areas, not off aggressively attacking the Brits in the desert.

bobfish i agree with u, but apprently the insurgenbts can still get into the spawn area of the US in airport with a car, or motorcycle, onfoot they wouldnt be able to make it. Wish it could work faster in the car... would protect us a bit, we all know in a rea base it would be impossible to penetrate a US base, mortar attakcs maybe, but we have defensive teams all around so ehh, it wouldnt happen.

Removal of the minimap was intended to remove the unrealistic aspect shooting anything that moved that wasn't a blue dot. Now that the minimap is gone, soldiers are forced to pay attention to the terrain and double check movement rather than a mimimap. While it archived it's goal, it also had the unintended effect of making it harder to find your own squad. As was suggested in another thread, increasing the green squad indicator arrows around the edge of your screen will help a lot.
As for players not using VOIP, PR is not for the amateur or inexperienced player. You need to have the tools and the skills to fully enjoy the PR experience as intended by its makers.

FINALLY the insurgents got it right. If they managed to push the brits back all the way to airport then they deserve praise. You guys are right about Battlearena though, it is a total mess but I play there often to help try to show the majority of players how it should be played because as of right now it is the wild west of servers. Call me Wyatt Erp but I managed get a little organization no matter what team Im in. Playing insurgents can be a whole lot of fun if you try not to fight them conventionally. Like I said traps for example if your in a village and you see a british squad in the open shoot at them not to kill but for attention. Naturally they are gonna investigate thats when you lay the trap. IED's, grenades, rpgs you name it use them all. Just remember the open ground is theirs but the villages are your turf, learn to utilize them.

I agree dude, i had allmost same beef in thread in the feedback part "is it working" and i think its not so much the mini (even though i miss it) as it is no spawn except if ur luckyenough to be in a working squad and on a team that has a commander etc.
just not the same, actually i spend more time walking, not everbody is working togeter, maybe even less chatter on voip...... im depressed as hell over it.

^^^LOL, the mini isnt made to run & gun with... the "M" mapp shows exactly the same. if u want exact reality dish the medic as it is and go no respawn, and magically appearing bunkers, a few shovels & there built, and ur *** can spawnn at them outta thin air etc.............

Yeah you will enjoy it if you're in a T&T squad... But if the server gets full (and it almost always does). The T&T guys play together and you are left with the "newbs"/"noobs". Believe me you will just want to cry when that happens. On Quinling (?spelling) I jsut stood watching the command map as people just drop the tanks into obvious traps or just tk'd for/crashed the helis.
It was just sorry!
T&T is the best server i've been on, though. My ping to tactical gamer is too high. IGI is another decent server. obviously it just depends who's on any given server at the time, though.

^^^good points, kinda the way i see it.
i can understand teh PR folks wanting to mandate TW , but ya know there will allways be those who dont and wont use TW no matter what u do, and if you get stuck in there squad your stuck or you can start your own & be in same boat & not have any kits unless ur lucky & some more join.

Ok well i have a question(s) then, since i am the one who started this mess in the first place... 1st question is, why is there a picture of a girl on the very first posting of this whole thread? Advertisemement? Wuznt there before... but secondly and most importantly is this. I now understand that the noobs have just totally ruined this game for a tad bit till they get the game. But here is the question. Hypothetically speaking right now i observe about the same amount of people and servers running like it was in the previous release, and in the previous release we had all experts on the game. So now with the new release, with the same amount of people and servers running, did we just trade the experts for noobs? Where did our experienced players go? Strike cuz of the minimap removal or what?

Funny you should say that, we annihilated two entire Brit squads south of the Mosque today, and a little while later started taking MG fire from the east. Everyone ran to go shoot at the "other landy", only to find the tank they sent. >_<
I agree with ralfidude, as well, the VCP is a ghost fort, and I rarely see anyone occupy it. Make it cappable, make it so your side can spawn into it, and it'll give the Brits incentive to occupy it and use it, if only to keep the insurgents from doing the same. It'll be an RPG magnet, but oh well. Honestly, the insurgents would be better served not wasting manpower taking it, but it'd be too tempting.
