I never mentioned anything about asstes that dont spawn in main bases.. so wtf are you on about.
MadTommy wrote:Example..On Kashan Desert.. US Apache spawns and the 1st thing the crew does is fly to MEC Outpost and destroy any parked Tanks, APCs & AAVs.
RGG and me as a squad-guest almost got banned off T&T for setting up ambushes for the British on the Village flag on Fool's Road.
Not my definition of spawnraping/baseraping/basecamping etc. - It's if someone shoots anything that spawn in the mainbase, upon asset/personell spawning and aslong as it's in the base.
Only exception is choppers returning to mainbase to rearm, with someting chasing it. They are fair prey if they try to land with an enemy chopper or plane on their tail.
It's nice that the baseraper has 'fun', but what about me ?
I want to have fun too and I don't consider dying 1 second after respawn as some sort of entertainment.
Ultimately baseraping is lame because it means some people enjoy themselves at others expense. PR can be played in a manner that is fun for everyone, and baseraping is counter to that.
Taking your balls in your hand and going into an enemy base on foot or in a Hummer/Landy/similar as part of a dedicated sabotage squad to SLAM/C4 assets is a different kettle of fish altogether.
I agree. Engineer/Spec Ops attacks on main bases are totally different than blowing everyone to **** with the apache.
Fools road is a bit different. I consider the first two flags on either side to be a UCB, I cant believe they intended people to be blowing up the uk bridge all the time and sitting in village, its far too easy.
I think the two main flags are supposed to stop the ucb being overrun too easily, unfortunately its had the opposite effect by promoting the idea that its ok to sit just outside their main base and kill anything that leaves it
You should have been warned first but otherwise I'd agree with kicking people off for sitting on those flags before they can be captured, its cheap
It'd be good if the game prevented it rather then admin or server rules. Ie. An abundance of TOW and AA at main bases by default would be a good idea imo though its not a solution in itself
getting baseraped when you have waited 20 mins for a jet to spwan and you are finally ready to take off is just a PAIN in the @$$. also getting kicked for the negative points that you get for it...
as soon as this happens to me, i go [BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP]

Or when you land to re-arm and the p*ssies, that rather went flying somewhere at 4000 m, come back down and destroy you on ground, while you we're in the air for 20 minutes before that and no one bothered to hunt you down with AA/fighters.
Or the Cobra hiding behind the mountain and releasing a TV missile, when the Havoks spawn.
Clearly people who base rape, have no guts and run away, when they get locked on or see someone waving a SA7 towards them, so they just have to suck and go base rape, so their precious rApe-10 doesn't get shot down.
Outpost and Airfield are different 'bases' which both have a lot of assets spawning. Since APC spawn is removed, the team has to transport itself to that flag first. In the meantime an Attack helicopter could destroy those assets. A blackhawk can't transport the whole team so..
Of course there's an AA gun sitting at the main, but who's going to use it? People want to play the game and take part in the battle. If they would to sit at an AA gun (that isn't a guaranteed AA kill btw) they would do absolutely nothing all round.
If an enemy jet were to get anywhere near a US main base, they would annihilated! First they would get detected long before they even got there. Then an entire squadron of Jets would meet the attacker.
If an enemy tank were to get anywhere near a US main base, they would get annihilated! First they would get detected long before they even got there. Then a large group of armored vehicles would be deployed to wipe them the tank out.
Main bases have hundreds (if not thousands) of personnel. There are large groups of troops in that base that are specifically dedicated to defending it and nothing more (so their job is to watch stuff -- all the time -- they don't see a lot of action).
Main bases also have many checkpoints around it which are again made specifically to ensure people don't sneak around the base. Getting to the area Tanks and APCs are is virtually impossible unless you unleash a massive assault with thousands of attacking soldiers with very modern weaponry.
And jets... well... jets are so freaking far away that it should be obvious why camping runways and hangers is just as stupid.
It's about sportsmanship. Sure, you CAN attack the main base if you want to. But if you do, you're just being a selfish **** who gets fun out of annoying other people more than anything else. The only fun about raping the main base is not to win (people that want to win, always want to win honorably, especially in a video game) it's to anger other people.
PR can't be made 100% realistic so let's create a fun environment shall we?

creepinshadow24/7 wrote:Does destroying enemy Runway count as baserape?
Well of course it's fine to destroy the enemy runway, I can only assume that's why they made it destructible. However, a jet taking off on said runway, is a different story...
I personally think that destroying the remaining vehicles at the "Outpost" flag is a fairly legitimate tactic, as they should have all been taken by the time the choppers/jets spawn, and the RP does expire. Also, it has been stated that it's fair game on the server that I play on, so I figure that the enemy could (and probably will) do it right back to us anyway.
I would like to know what people think about destroying the enemy jets and choppers while they're rearming and repairing. I try not to, but it seems like I'm one of a few.
OK read the postings and no one seems to be in agreement.
IMO it's poor sportsmanship and there's nothing quit as boring as having to keep waiting 30 seconds to re-spawn because someone decided to set up and kill you as soon as you do spawn. Got better things to do with my time and would rather not play at all than suffer through this. I leave the server and let the "win at all costs" player have it to themselves.
TBH though , I haven't really encountered this problem as the campers are usually quickly removed (either by our returning fire or the server admin :mrgreen
Never played commander so don't know , but wouldn't it be feasible to at least allow the Commander to view incoming enemies on the map (similar to having radar which they do IRL but not accessible to everyone)and then co-ordinate a counter attack either with amour , air or whatever.
Then if his team didn't co-operate they could be left to their own fate.
Project reality is a game, and in that i want to have fun, but i also try my damn hardest not to get killed. If i am ever in any aircraft, the first thing i do if fly over their main base to see if their air assets are up, if not then there is no reason for me not to help my team and i do it.
However strafing an A10 with the frog while it taxies, there is no fun in that, i like knowing im the better pilot through skill, not by my 3p3n1s size.
I like giving the other team a chance, and i like knowing that i beat them fairly.
Then comes the topic of sabotage's.
My sabotage squad has usually 3 guys. 1 riflemen ammo, 1 AT, and 1 engineer, the order that i give is no killing the enemy, if they wanted to do that they should have joined an infantry squad, we stay and stalk their main, reporting what we see and where it is going, we dont get allot of points, but its fun and i enjoy it. any one who thinks this is baserape is insane, because this clearly is not, yes there are times when i must defend myself and i 'go hot' but thats very rarely, usually its just a commander with his screen up and he doesn't notice me.

The vehicles at the outpost spawn only once, directly at the mapstart and there is a RP that expires after 5 minutes.
After this 5 minutes you should already got your vulnerable assets to lead the first attack wave.
The air vehicles spawn after 20 minutes.
'Artnez[US wrote:;580785']Bubba the problem is that you're talking about PR like it's Unreal Tournament 2010 or something.
The examples you bring are frankly stupid. Of course there's an AA gun sitting at the main, but who's going to use it? People want to play the game and take part in the battle. If they would to sit at an AA gun (that isn't a guaranteed AA kill btw) they would do absolutely nothing all round.
But let's even disregard what everyone said. I'll destroy your entire argument with 2 words Bubba:

That's it, you can throw in the towel and move on to another thread.

My examples?
Which examples do you mean?
What arguments do you want to disprove?
Where did I wrote that I legitimate the attack of a impregnable mainbase?
WTF?

My bad, thought you were referring to main base when you were referring to outpost. I modded my post.
Base rape (Logical): Being killed while in the confines of your base.
Base rape (Twats): Being killed in the confines if your base or anywhere within five grid squares around the base while you have a marked advantage over the player who killed you but would rather piss and moan about being killed than actually killing the hostile.
Denying the enemy important assets which can shift the tide of the battle in their favor is gay, anyone who tries to win should be banz0rcoptorskated as they're ruining gameplay. For some reason, when I spawn I have a rifle and the ability to acquire new and more powerful kits from my main base so I can KILL the people attacking it, instead of whining to everyone in the server and speculating on their sexuality. Then again, maybe that's just my leet PR skills and gargantuan male genitalia that let me do that so your mileage may vary.
