Heskey, if you see [DM] Cheomesh leading a squad on that map, as me to invite you; mention you know me as EG and you win the ticket.

I like Kashan, But it has to be said you can have a god damn terrible time on that map.
2nd that one.
But to be honest, it's your own admins problem to control the tards. Seriously, an admins job is NOT to play. It is to control the players when they're out of line. Yes, Kashan can be super crappy. But with a competent admin it should not be. Mass kicks/temp bans are totally appropriate for idiots, it will teach them not to **** around so much. If they can't learn by brain, they certainly will learn by pain.
I will give you this: Kashan attracts smacktards. Does T&T do password nights? If so, I think tossing this in on one would make you see the light side of it.

Meh... password night does not guarantee teamwork. Anyone with Half-a-brain could find the password and still screw around. Not to mention the recent low population on the TG password nights...

now this is why i
LOVE Kashan.
taking off in formation:
double A10 attack, say goodbye to Mr. AA:
heres me and hgl_420_division a attack on enemy bunker:
a10 and f16(hgl_420_division), flight in formation:
and i have tones and tones of SS from that round.
the key to kashan desert is a well organized pilot squad. that way there would be no one wasting time at the main for jets and stuff. also, having a good commander is really important and finally the server you are playing this map on(i was playing on TG). some of my best rounds in PR where on kashan desert, i mean on that specific round we took out lased targets one after another.

to me Kashan is just one of those maps that you either have a great time playing or have a shitty time playing it. Very rarely do I get average rounds on Kashan, they always tend to be at both extremities. go figure, I guess it always depends on how your team plays.

To be honest I am so SICK of seeing those damn bunkers. Maybe I should mess with the map files and make 2 new 16 size Kashans, one for each of the two main villages...

I was the one who removed the mine under the A-10
I was one of the noobie pilots who flew a squad to the bunkers but our plan was to stop some of the enemys when the rest of the team captured village. But none of the trucks etc that left the main went to village :/

Some-time into the map, the game looked like that; eventually, we took both bunkers, but 3 tanks decided to have a tea-party north of South Village for some 30 minutes and ended up being destroyed, rather than going in and capping it whilst TACTEAM alone fended off half the MEC at South Bunker...
I HATE KASHAN DESERT

Seems to me that what you
really hate are the noobs, not the map. There's a bit of a gap between a bad map, and bad players..

Kashan is great if you're playing with people you know, at least you could have a chat and laugh at the other mindless desert wanderers while you hike 2 Km just to be blown to pieces randomly.
(BTW, nice seeing ya in Mestia and Zatar on TG today EG

Ghostrider, I hate the map because it attracts the noobs.
With so many vehicles just waiting to be grabbed, even the more serious players reduce their tactical awareness to that of a gnat.
And BloodBane611; the Admins are players too, and shouldn't be arsing around in BF2CC every 2 seconds to kick every arse on the server, don't get me wrong, they do a great job - But that particular round we were just overwhelmed with... That!

Mate, there's no need to remove this map. Personally, I love this map when it's played well. And as someone mentioned earlier, the trick to this map working well is LEADERSHIP.
As a fellow [T&T] member you know our rule is that CO and SL orders MUST be obeyed (or face being kicked). So - if the leadership at the top is effective then that should trickle down to all ranks. It doesn't take a lot of admining to advise the CO to report SL's who aren't following orders, and for SL's to report squad members who aren't.
We're called Tactics & Teamwork for a reason. However, we can't expect people to join our server and instantly play the way we do. So, we try to ensure a proper framework is in place so that players who are less enlightened can be directed accordingly. That framework is effective leadership.
It's a struggle - but nobody said it was gonna be easy.

Kashan desert is one awesome tactical map, which can show you all beautiness of PR's teamplay, but only if it is played in a right way.
Sad thing is that playing Kashan on public server, free for everyone, is very frustrating and will most probably give you worst PR experience ever.
Main reason for that is, way too many things/assets should work coordinated together to achieve something:
- you need good and patient commander
- 2 infantry squads
- 2 armor/AA squads
- 1 transport pilots squad
- 1 jet pilots squad
As you can see, that is 6 good squads + commander per side, and it should be like that on both team sides, but that can happen only in one of 100 public rounds of Kashan. Same goes for Qinling too.
I mean, I'm playing PR for quite a long time and I think that I could enumerate with my 10 fingers, rounds with 12 squads and two commanders working like a clock.
My thinking is that Kashan and Qinling should be an exclusive for experienced players on passworded server nights, with pre-organised teams and tactics.
On open for all, public servers, those maps are best only for training and I'm thinking that it should be treated only that way, for best to all.
P.S.
I've had few good rounds of K. & Q., but perfect one still didn't happened for me yet.

Everyone has their personal opinion of maps, seeing as everyone has had negative or positive experiances on eah of the maps in pr. Singeling out 1 map just beacuse it dosent go well with your server may not be the perfect reason for asking it to be removed.
I saw , and from what i hear your squad Hesky are quite experianced so split up and lead the way for the rest of your team, insted of ganging up with the good old boys and bitching about how the team is doing everything wrong, in other words if it aint going your way try leading by example and if that aint working then i just dont know...

It is overwhelmingly rare to have any fun on Kashan.
The map is just dull, even when played well the only people who will enjoy it are pilots.

I agree, that given clan matches or password nights, Quinling and Kashan would be two of the most WTFOMGAMAZING maps, but on an open public server, when absolute no-brainers can grab the Commander role without a mic and go fight on the frontline and not really do their job well, it can become aggrivating, and in such scenarios, teamwork doesn't trickle down from the top; then factor in the amount of squads who won't listen to the Commander, such as tank squads that wanna go be 1337 t4nkbustaz instead of providing armour support to the pinned infantry at the bunkers. All in all, Kashan can be more trouble than it's worth, especially for server admins - Removing folk for not following commander orders on any other map is usually a once-in-a-while experience, whereas on Kashan it's almost a full-time job, I'd imagine.
I personally commanded an excellent round on Kashan some time ago, but it lasted for 3 hours, and my head really hurt from spending 3 hours looking at blips on my overview, so I won't be doing it again anytime soon = /

We tried this recently and it doesn't work. You tend to find one or two squads have all the 'good' players, and the rest are filled with the people running for the A10, the broken sniper kits, the spec-ops kits (in the middle of a damned desert - way to go) and no matter who the squad leader is, you just cannot band those people together. Kick 'em then? Everyone else is already in a squad, and you're left with 1 poor sod and no bleedin' rallypoint. I'm surprised you think we haven't already tried this.

Kashan rocks! It is a beautiful map where finding cover is most important.
Also building a bunker/firebase on a good spot near the bunkers ,where tankcamping is impossible, is the key in this map. The one who gets both bunkers mostly wins...

Unless like in that round when the bunkers are taking a 25+ man pounding, and the entire armour division is having a tea-party on the hills (Not giving overwatch at bunker, btw) instead of rolling in to South Village
