My vote was based only on handling and performance, it had nothing to do with patriotism (I'm not even american) or coolness.
Anyway, I'm gonna make it clearer:
Favorite AA (air-to-air) aircraft: F-16 Falcon
Favorite AG (air-to-ground) aircraft: A-10 Thunderbolt
The controls for both seem OK in my opinion, as I've played many flight simulators, so I know what I'm talking about. However, I can't tell how accurate or realistic they are compared to flying a jet in real life.
Sorry that I wasn't specific before.

AtA engagements: F-16. I'm not sure why, but even with full sensitivity cranked up in the in-game and on my stick, MiG's just turn slower than the F-16's I feel like, although the problem may just be because I don't reduce throttle for tight turns. Also, the F-16's have the extra ammunition needed to take out pesky Arabian aircraft who managed to evade your missles. And the handling just seems...smoother. I preferred the MiG's in .6 simply because of the speed of the thing.
AtG engagements: Su-25. I love the A-10 and all, but the Frogfoot is just so much faster and more maneuverable than the A-10 (and I'm not quite sure if that's the way the DEVs wanted it...is it?) and is a solid can-opener provided I'm getting targets marked for me like ground attack jets are supposed to have. Also equipped to handle infantry by the truckload with their useful rockets.
I left consideration of the J-10 and Eurofighter out because I go blind when I'm flying in that map and can't see where I'm going w/o the radar, much less take into account the handling and combat capabilities of the damn jet. Hopefully a sky-swatch swap will be in order.

Its lovely if you use a joystick, don´t expect to be able to control aircraft well with a mouse and keyboard...crAck_sh0t wrote:are u serious?
the eurofighter isn't compatible at all with a mouse i tried it on training map its too fast and its just horrible.

true, no prob with kb&m or even keyboard only.
I dont get this discussion though. I mean the overall handling isnt exactly right with em being able to turn around their axis like a merry go round on fast forward.
you can for example do a left turn and instantly start rolling to the right as if kinetic and centrifugal force hasnt been invented yet.
or the fact it takes longer to align for a decent flight path than rising.
so why pick a favourite when the handling has been changed to suite stick users, but besideds being digestible for em is quite, well, bonkers?
( and this only covers handling and not weapon systems)

Blame EA, also, there's no such thing as centrifugal force.101 bassdrive wrote:you can for example do a left turn and instantly start rolling to the right as if kinetic and centrifugal force hasnt been invented yet.

SU-25 Frogfoot, Absolutely loves it turn radius, extreme performance, landing is easy, and evading locks is easy.
Beats the A-10, but RL the A-10 Would kill it
